Wouldn't you like to create your own sentimental poster in Korea?
If you want more than just an ordinary studio shoot and wish to experience the moment of truly becoming the main character in a movie, this is the perfect place for you.
It is the “Salonindien,” a self-photo studio inspired by the “Salon Indien du Grand Café” in Paris, where the first film screening took place in 1895.
This is an interactive photo studio designed around four different movie genres, where you can create results that look just like real movie posters!
Another major advantage is that professional photography equipment, lighting setups, and detailed directing are provided, so even those who are not familiar with photo shoots can achieve satisfying results.

Salonindien | Our Visit

Today, we visited 'SalonIndian' in Hongdae for a special movie-themed photo shoot!
'Salon Indian' is a movie poster concept studio designed around four different film genres, featuring stylishly curated spaces and cinematic lighting.
As soon as I arrived at the entrance, it felt just like stepping into a real movie theater, and my anticipation for today's shoot grew even more.
From here on, our editor will introduce the highlights of 'SalonIndien' that they personally experienced, one by one 🎬
As soon as you step inside, the first thing you'll notice is the interior that looks just like a movie theater lobby!
Just like standing in front of a real movie theater, completed movie posters are lined up and displayed along the wall under the glowing "NOW PLAYING" sign.
The floor is covered with a red carpet, the seats are classic red cinema chairs like those you’d find in a theater, and thanks to the vintage props and movie theater-style lighting throughout the space, it felt less like a photo studio and more like stepping into a small independent cinema~!
And what impressed our editor the most was the background music, which matched the atmosphere of the space perfectly.
Soft music that matched the concept was gently playing throughout the entire space!
Thanks to that, even while preparing for the shoot, I naturally felt like an actor right before a real movie begins.
Thanks to the atmosphere created by the lighting and music, we felt as if we were immersed in a scene from a movie.
There was also a space set aside for makeup and hair touch-ups.
They had all the little essentials like hair ties, cotton pads, and cotton swabs, so it was really convenient for quick touch-ups.
What surprised us the most was that they even had a Dyson Airwrap available!
I felt that this was a huge advantage for those who need to tidy up their hair.
You don’t have to worry because you can quickly fix your messy hair and makeup as soon as you arrive~!
And this space is also decorated with great attention to detail, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the “movie theater” concept!

And there is also a separate changing room where you can change clothes.
Outfits that match each concept are prepared, so you can comfortably change in the fitting room and get ready for your shoot.

Moreover, I heard that the K-POP girl group 'IZNA' also visited~?
Just knowing that a famous celebrity had visited made me even more excited!
The wall was covered with posters left behind by people who had finished their photo shoots.
You can see the finished results for yourself, making it easy to compare how each concept is styled.
Since there are a total of four different concepts, it might not be easy for first-time visitors to choose.
So, as an editor who has personally experienced all four,
I’ll now introduce the features and recommended points of each concept one by one. 🎬
Just trust me and follow along!
🎬 Concept Introduction
[Hall 1 Mystery: The Garden of Bluecake]

First, shall we head into Hall 1 to watch the first movie?
The first concept is the mystery genre, "The Garden of Blue Cake."
This space was inspired by the dreamlike imagination of film director Michel Gondry.
The blue curtains and gold-patterned wallpaper were the first things that caught my eye!
An antique red sofa, along with a table set in front of it adorned with crystal decorations, candlesticks, and dessert plates, created an overall atmosphere reminiscent of a classic movie set.

Each exhibit features a panel explaining the concept story.
Before the shoot began, we were able to get a sense of the overall mood and setting, which was a huge help when deciding on poses and expressions!
The structure allows you to immerse yourself by reading the explanation of the concept, so it truly felt like I had become a real actor.
On one side of the photo studio, outfits and accessories matching each concept were prepared.
A wide variety of items were available, from dresses to hats, ribbons, gloves, and jewelry accessories, so it was convenient because there was no need to bring your own outfit.
What was especially impressive was how the props played a major role in completing the atmosphere—just adding one or two items could completely change the feel of the scene.
Our editor and a friend picked out outfits for each other and coordinated their styles.
Here’s an editor tip! ✨
If you coordinate your outfit style or color tone with your companion, the photos will look much more harmonious!
Also, there are example photos from previous shoots displayed, which will help you decide on poses and facial expressions!

Our editor tried on this style of outfit for the first time ever~!!
Although it wasn’t something I usually wear, the concept space and atmosphere matched so well that it was fun to try out a new style!
This concept features a space rich in background colors and props, so we recommend choosing standout items for your outfit or accessories.

Before the actual shoot began, a staff member explained how to use the equipment.
The total shooting time is 30 minutes, and there are fixed cameras and monitors installed in the space.
When you press the remote control button, the photo is taken automatically after 2 seconds, so you can comfortably strike a pose at just the right moment.
The footage is displayed on the monitor with real-time retouching by "Salon Indian"!
It was easy to compare which angles and expressions turned out well because the originals and final cuts were shown in order!
During the photo shoot, a staff member waits just outside the shooting area, so you can request assistance only when needed.
Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy our photo shoot freely, just among ourselves, in a completely private atmosphere without worrying about anyone else's gaze~!
For reference, each themed space is equipped with a tripod, so you can also capture the preparation process or behind-the-scenes moments during your shoot~!
Our editor filmed a time-lapse in every hall, and watching them again after finishing the shoot turned out to be a whole new kind of fun.
We recommend this for those who want to capture not only the final photos but also the entire process!
We officially started filming!
At first, I wasn’t sure how to pose, so it was a bit difficult, but the staff suggested a few poses that look great in photos, which made the shoot much more comfortable and enjoyable!
Thanks to the blue and gold colors and antique objects, it felt like a scene from a mystery movie.
It also seems perfect for creating a medieval princess or noble concept, so it would be great for group photoshoots with matching styles!
Our editor quickly changed outfits during the shoot, so we were able to try two different styles with the same concept~!
Since you only need to finish within the 30-minute shooting time, we recommend managing your time well and trying out multiple styles with one concept!

It's a bit embarrassing, but Our editor will share the original and the edited versions..!
You can really see the difference before and after editing, right?
With SalonIndien’s unique instant retouching technology, the colors became more vivid and the facial enhancements were spot on, so I was really satisfied with the results!
It was amazing that the edited photo appeared within 2 seconds after shooting, so you could check the final cut right away.
You can check the results immediately, which makes the shooting process much more enjoyable, and being able to predict the mood of the final cut in advance greatly increases satisfaction.
Every time we saw the finished shots, we were amazed by SalonIndian’s editing skills, and both our editor and everyone in our group gained a huge boost of confidence.
Thanks to this, I gained confidence, became bolder with my poses, and was able to participate more actively in the shoot.
After the shoot, a staff member will come back in and briefly explain how to select your photos.
Once the instructions were finished, we were given about 15 minutes to select our photos. During this time, we could look through the pictures together and choose our favorite shots.
It was great to have a generous 15 minutes to comfortably share opinions and make decisions!
You can review each shot taken on a large monitor and select your photos one by one.
For the main photos, select 1 photo for number 1, 2 photos for number 2, and 4 photos for number 3. The selection process is simple—just enter the numbers using the numeric keypad on your laptop!
Press 0 to cancel!
When you press a number, the corresponding number appears below the photo, so it was easy to select the exact shot you wanted without any confusion.

The package includes 1 A4 main poster, 2 sub posters in 4x6 size, and 1 four-cut poster, allowing you to select a total of 7 photos.
I was satisfied with the generous number of cuts I could choose from, and
Another great thing was that you can receive your photos in various sizes and layouts, so you get a variety of results from just one photo session!
[Hall 2 Noir: Orange Family]

Now, let's move on to the second themed space, "Noir: The Orange Family Story"!
This concept features a mafia-inspired set reminiscent of the film , capturing the tense atmosphere of a night filled with betrayal and death.
Because the concept envelops the entire space in a quiet sense of tension, we were able to capture the atmosphere vividly through just our expressions.
The first thing that caught my eye was the table set with a chessboard, whiskey glasses, cigarettes, and a gun.
The dim lighting created a subtle sense of tension as soon as we entered the space.
Old picture frames hung on the walls, and with the addition of rustic wooden chairs and tables, as well as gun props, the atmosphere naturally evoked a scene straight out of a noir film.
And I liked that there was a wide variety of props available to use, giving you plenty of options to choose from during the shoot.

Looking at the sample photos, I saw that many people took pictures wearing dresses, and it also looked fun to try out some more daring styles!
Our editor's second tip! ✨
If you’re not planning to bring a separate outfit, we recommend wearing a neutral-colored top!
The unique lighting and jacket style of noir suit achromatic colors much better, so the overall tone looks much cleaner than when a colored top is visible underneath~!
By using props like sunglasses, guns, and cigarettes, the intense atmosphere unique to noir really came to life.
Thanks to the immersive atmosphere unique to the noir concept, I found myself boldly trying out facial expressions and poses that I would normally hesitate to attempt.
This kind of “role-playing photoshoot” was much more fun than I expected~!

In fact, even without any exaggerated posing, the space itself already creates such a strong mood that just sitting comfortably results in great photos~!
If you're unsure about what expression to make, we recommend the expressionless face + sunglasses combo, just like our editor!
Just by having two people sit facing each other or exchange glances, the tension and emotional undertones of the scene come alive, making it a great concept for naturally revealing the atmosphere of their relationship.
If you visit as a couple, you'll get even more charming results, so I’d especially recommend it for couples~!
[Hall 3 Romance: Some Like It Haute]

Next, we'll show you the third concept space, "Romance: Some Like It Haute"!
This concept is a romantic-themed set inspired by Marilyn Monroe from the film "Some Like It Hot," capturing the story of a lovely yet confident modern woman.
The bathtub filled with pink ball pit balls and the large teddy bear prop created a lovely and adorable mood, distinct from the previous concepts.
Behind the area with the bathtub, there was a powder room-style space with a sink and a mirror.
Not only were there pretty accessories on display, but the attention to detail in maintaining the bathroom concept throughout was truly impressive~!
As expected from the concept masters at 'SalonIndian', the interior design was outstanding.
For reference, the person responsible for the production design of 'SalonIndien' also participated in the set design for 'Squid Game'.
Perhaps that's why every space is arranged so perfectly, as if each one is a complete scene.
The staff explained that this space is designed with the concept of a “successful women’s party” and briefly shared how to make the most of each prop.
If you put on a princess headband and hold a champagne glass, or playfully pose with a telephone receiver, it really brings the atmosphere to life~!
After hearing the explanation, I was able to start shooting right away without having to worry about what poses to do, making it much more comfortable.

Our editor and their companions coordinated their looks with matching pajama and ribbon headband sets~!
It matched perfectly with the lovely, romantic concept, and I realized once again that coordinating your outfit tones results in much more polished photos.
Each room is equipped with mirrors, so you can tidy up your outfit before and after taking photos, or
It was also nice that we could take another stylish shot using the mirror.
Doesn't it give off the vibe of truly successful women?
Taking photos in pajamas in the pink ball pit bathtub was much more fun than I expected.
It felt like having a home party with a friend, and since I was dressed comfortably, I could pose naturally as well.
Wearing cozy pajamas gave it a different kind of charm, and thanks to that, the photos we took while playing around in the bathtub turned out even more lively and fun.
Here’s Our Editor’s Tip ✨
In Hall 3, they say that bigger movements look much better in photos than small poses!
We recommend trying more dynamic poses than usual, such as stretching out your arms or legs~!
[Hall 4 Fantasy: Soda World]

It's already the last, Hall 4...
Thanks to the colorful hues and fairytale-like decor, the moment you step inside, the atmosphere instantly brightens your mood.
Perhaps because this studio clearly embodies SalonIndien’s message of an “enjoyable shooting experience,”
The bright and cheerful atmosphere made it easy for everyone, from children to adults, to enjoy without any pressure!
Just like the title of Hall 4, "An Invitation Just for You,"
In this space, I felt like the main character invited into a world of fantasy.
Hall 4 was also filled with a variety of props.
All of the designs are cute and colorful like toys to match the concept, so just holding them instantly brightens up the vibe of your photos~!
Just holding it lightly in your hand naturally adds a stylish touch, making it a great space to enjoy without worrying about how to pose.
Our editor recommends making full use of all the props provided in each exhibit!
Our editor and their group decided to wear matching red bandanas.
The space features a lot of primary color combinations, so the red bandana really pops and stands out naturally.
When I wrapped it around my head like a bandana, it looked unexpectedly cute and matched the vibe perfectly!
This time, I used the tripod provided to take a time-lapse as well.
Since there’s a lot of movement in the ball pit, the videos we took in Hall 4 turned out to be the most fun compared to the other halls.
The ball bounces, shakes, and dazzles with vibrant colors!
It was also vividly captured on video, making it enjoyable to watch.
What stood out the most was the staff member who was truly passionate about photography.
When our editor was young, restaurants in Korea used to have ball pit playrooms.
As I was preparing for the shoot, the thought suddenly crossed my mind, and according to the staff, many Koreans say the same thing!
It felt like I had gone back to my childhood after getting into the ball pit for the first time in a long while.
Before we officially started filming, a staff member gave us some tips on how to throw the ball pit balls.
You’ll look much better in photos if you throw the ball backward rather than forward, since your face won’t be covered.
Press the remote control shutter button, wait about one second, and then throw it—the photo will turn out great!
The staff member personally threw the ball for 1 or 2 shots to help us get the best shot, which was really touching.
Thanks to the friendly service, we were able to enjoy the entire shoot in a great mood.

How is it? Did it turn out well?
Our editor’s tip✨
When you throw the ball, it’s easy to instinctively close your eyes if it falls on your face or head!
If you close your eyes as if winking and smile, it won’t look like you blinked because the ball hit you in the photo.
It actually creates a more natural and expressive look~!
In a space filled with ball pits, our editor was truly in a state of 'childlike wonder'!
You can lie down hugging a giant teddy bear, play with umbrellas and toy hammers, and more.
It felt just like being at an amusement park~!
Don’t the expressions and poses look natural, even just from the photos?
In Hall 4, instead of posing for photos, we found that just having fun naturally led to great pictures.

The space is quite spacious, so even if you come with a group, you can move around comfortably.
This is a space where you can take fun photos while goofing around together, so it seemed especially well-suited for group visits!
And there’s a ball pit and a big teddy bear that kids will love, so I thought it would be a great place to visit with children.
There are hardly any dangerous or breakable props, so parents can relax and enjoy themselves.
As children excitedly hit the balls, you'll naturally be able to capture beautiful, candid photos.
All the shooting and photo selection is already finished...
And the biggest advantage of 'SalonIndien'~!
The key point is that while you wait for your photos to be printed, you are free to use all areas inside the store.
Most studios only allow you to use the room you reserved, and in many cases, you can't go back in once your shooting time is over, right?
However, at 'Salon Indian', you can freely experience other concepts even without a reservation!
However, please note that only mobile phone cameras are allowed; cameras provided on-site or personal professional cameras cannot be used.
So our editor wandered around the store and was able to snap a few more photos~!
This space, which you see as soon as you enter the store, is actually a photo zone~!
Until the staff pointed it out, I thought it was just part of the interior design, but it turns out they had set up this space for photo shoots!
On one side, there was a pink tree, which made it perfect for enjoying the Christmas atmosphere.
The printing was finished in no time while I waited briefly.
As I wandered around the store exploring here and there, I completely lost track of time!
After showing us the finished photos, they carefully packaged everything for us.
As many people film the packaging process, the staff have naturally continued to upgrade the quality of the packaging.
Thanks to this, the packaging process was truly thoughtful and beautiful, so our editor even captured it on video~!

Ta-da~ What do you think of our editor's photo?
The moment I received the finished photos, I truly felt that the 30 minutes I spent taking them was worth it!
When I actually received it, I was even more satisfied because the material was as sturdy as a real movie poster~!
Unlike thin and flimsy paper, the quality of the paper itself was truly excellent, making the final result look much more sophisticated.

The original shots were clean, unedited photos, but at 'SalonIndien', each concept was given its own unique poster design, completely transforming the atmosphere!
It feels like being reborn as a movie poster, so the end result looks much richer.
When you place the two photos side by side and compare them, the difference is clear, isn’t it?
The package is really well put together.
Each team receives one package, and since it comes in a premium package holder, our satisfaction shot up the moment we received it.
The holder itself is sturdy, and the design is so sophisticated that it felt like I was storing a magazine photo shoot.
They also provided a separate bag for carrying, so nothing got crumpled on the way home and I didn’t need to prepare an extra bag, which was great.
It felt great because they made sure the finished product was of high quality!
One wall was completely covered with famous movie posters,
In the meantime, our editor slipped their photo in for a memorable shot!
For a moment, I truly felt like my poster had become an official movie poster displayed in a theater!
We took photos at the photo zone in the store while holding the poster.
True to its movie theater concept, the space is filled with props like slates, film strips, and camera objects that are perfect for posting on social media, so I found myself naturally reaching for them.
Especially on the slate, you can write directly with a whiteboard marker, so
I wrote down the date of my visit and my name as a small keepsake.
At the end, you can sit in seats designed to look like a real movie theater, hold your printed poster, and take photos. We were able to have fun decorating all the way to the end~!
I think the time I spent at SalonIndian today will stay with me for a long time!
Having experienced all four concepts, I found that each one has a completely different atmosphere and charm, so it's really hard to recommend just one.
It felt like traveling through completely different worlds—mystery, noir, romance, and fantasy—one after another, so there was never a dull moment during the entire shoot.
Until the moment I received the poster at the end! Every step of the process was truly enjoyable.
If you want to truly feel like the main character in a movie, we highly recommend experiencing it at 'SalonIndien' at least once! 🎬
