Hello, everyone, we are providing you with the latest daily information about Korea byCreatrip.
If you are applying to the Hanyang University Language Institute, you can also apply for the dormitory (residence hall) operated by Hanyang University!
When studying abroad in Korea, housing issues are one of the biggest concerns. Especially for first-time students, it’s natural to worry about things like “Where should I live?” and “Is it safe?”
So this time, I would like to introduce the dormitories at Hanyang University
Hanyang University Dormitory
Location

Hanyang University has several dormitories, but the dormitories for the Hanyang University International Education Institute are the '6th Student Residence Hall' or the '7th Student Residence Hall', which are located off campus.
The shortest route taught by a Hanyang University student is as shown above
(Orange circle: Language Institute, Red circle: Dormitory)
How to Get There

I will explain how to get from the Language School to the 6th or 7th Student Dormitory.
First, go from the Language School’s International Hall toward the subway station (Hanyang University Station). *The way to the subway is simple, so photos are omitted.
①Go straight on the road in front of the Student Hall behind Hanyang Plaza
②Proceed along the narrow road in front of the No. 1 Medical Building (第1医学館)
③When you see the university hospital, turn right
④When you reach the university exit, go down the slope

⑤Turn right when you see the police box
⑥Go straight along the slope
Climb up because a slope like a bridge will appear
The building you see in the back is the dormitory.
It took about 15 minutes from the language school to the dormitory
Common Features of Dormitories
If you move into the dormitory, both dormitories have the following features in common
- Provision of bedding (sheets, futon, pillow)
- No kitchen, so self-catering is not possible
- Dining area available
- Laundry room
- Study room
- No additional charges for utilities, etc.
There are staff members always present in the dormitory, so if any trouble arises, you can get help at the office! Since it is connected with the language institute, you can consult with peace of mind.
If you are staying in Student Residence Hall 6 or Student Residence Hall 7, the interiors may differ slightly, but security measures and other features are fully in place in both, so I will introduce them.

You need a special card to enter the dormitory.
Since you can't enter the dorm or your room without a card, it's safe in terms of security

Packages from courier or mail services are stored in the '택배실 (Delivery Room).' When your package arrives, please pick it up yourself

There was also a bank ATM installed in the dormitory

The office is also located in the dormitory, so if you have any problems, please go to the office
6th Student Residence Hall

The first one to introduce is the 6th Student Residence Hall.

Interior of the room

I was surprised as soon as I entered. It's a room for two people, but since each area is partitioned, privacy is protected.
With this room type, it feels almost the same as living alone

In the room
- Desk
- Bed
- Closet
- Window
- Air conditioner
is installed, and storage space is also provided in the beds and desks. It's also nice that each room has a window

The shower (including the toilet) room is also very clean

The shoe cabinet is big too, so it doesn't look like we'll have any arguments about storage (lol)
7th Student Dormitory

The next one we’ll introduce is the 7th Student Dormitory.
Basic Information
| Address | 서울 성동구 살곶이2가길 51 (Seoul, Seongdong-gu, Salgoji 2-ga-gil 51) |
| Eligible Residents | Male |
| Room Type | Double room |
| Toilet/Shower Location | In-room |
| Cost (per semester) | 1,402,500 won |
*The above amounts are as of 2025
*Amounts include Creatrip’s service fees
Inside the Room

In the case of rooms in the 7th Student Residence Hall, there is no partition; the furniture is arranged on the left and right sides

In the room
- Desk
- Bed
- Closet
- Window
- Air conditioner
- Laundry drying rack
was installed!

The shower room structure is almost the same as that of Student Dormitory No. 6, but Student Dormitory No. 7 was slightly more spacious
Summary
I myself have lived in both a dormitory and a studio apartment, but personally, I found the dormitory more convenient and comfortable.
The reasons are,
- Commuting is convenient because it's close to the school
- If any trouble occurs, the school will handle it
These two are significant.
There was a time when the water supply broke when I was living in a studio apartment, and it was tough because I had to arrange for the repairs all by myself
When I was in the dormitory, I remember being very grateful because when the electricity went out and I consulted the language school office, they responded right away.
The dormitories at Hanyang University are very clean inside, and your privacy is also protected, so if you plan to attend the language school, definitely consider the university dormitory as an option!
This concludes the introduction to the dormitory at Hanyang University
