Hello, everyone, we are providing you with the latest daily information about Korea byCreatrip.
This time, we bring you a campus tour of the prestigious Hanyang University in Seoul✨
Are you wondering what the atmosphere is like on a university campus in Korea? Or are you considering studying abroad at Hanyang University? We have the perfect information for you, so be sure to read until the end
We will introduce the inside of the language school classroom
What kind of place is Hanyang University?
Hanyang University was founded in 1939 and is a prestigious private university in Korea, known for its strength in engineering fields such as mechanical engineering and electronic engineering.
The campus is located in the heart of Seoul, Seongdong-gu, with direct access from Hanyang University Station on Subway Line 2—an outstandingly convenient location!

Furthermore, Hanyang University has assigned numbers to all buildings, and since the numbers are displayed prominently on the buildings, it is very convenient and easy to find them.

Also, if you look at the campus map, I think you can see how spacious it is, but Hanyang University's campus is the 9th largest in area among universities in Seoul.
Let's get started and introduce the highlights of the campus👇
Campus Introduction
Starting Point: Subway 'Hanyang Univ. Station'
When you exit from Exit 4 of Subway Line 2 'Hanyang Univ. Station (한양대역)', you'll immediately see the Hanyang University campus. Since the station is directly connected, commuting is easy even on rainy days!
One of Hanyang University's major advantages is that it is directly connected to the station
Hanyang Plaza(Hanyang Plaza)

When you exit from Exit 4, you'll see the building 'Hanyang Plaza (105)' right in front of you. This building has various shops including cafes, restaurants, and a stationery store. There's also a student cafeteria on the third floor that anyone can use. I've written separately about my experience using the cafeteria, so if you're interested, please take a look
Introduction to Hanyang University’s Cafeteria
🌳 History Hall (歴史館)

Next, we introduce the building that symbolizes Hanyang University, the 'History Hall (101),' which was designated as National Registered Cultural Property No. 751 in 2019. It was formerly the main building, but now serves as the university's history museum.
History Museum Visit
Viewing hours: Weekdays 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Fee: Free

Anyone can visit the history museum, and the inside is also quite an impressive facility.
Of course, content related to the history of Hanyang University is introduced in detail, as well as famous graduates. A large theater was also prepared

The first floor of the history museum also has a Hanyang University souvenir shop
In addition to tumblers and mascot character plush toys, Hanyang University’s 과잠 (Kwajam: department jumper) is also sold here, so be sure to stop by!

In front of the History Museum stands the lion, which can be called the symbol of Hanyang University. The lion statue was started on December 20, 1965, as a graduation memorial by the class of 1965. It is still used today as an image character representing the school's tradition and pride.
Recommended Photo Spot
The area in front of the Hanyang University monument is a classic spot for international students to take commemorative photos!
Museum

There is also a 'Museum (109)' on campus, and you can usually visit it for free.
However, the museum is closed for interior construction from March 13, 2025. Please check the website below for more detailed information about the museum.
Open-air Theater

The outdoor theater, which is also the place where the school festival is held, could also be seen as a spot where students enjoyed lunch together.
Chung Mong-Koo Future Automotive Research Center(Future Automotive Research Center)

The large building located across from the Blue Sky Theater is the 'Future Automobile Research Center (210).' Hanyang University is known as a prestigious engineering school and boasts one of the largest scales in Korea... Among its departments, the Department of Future Automotive Engineering is one of the most outstanding in the field.
You can also see the 'Open-air Café' on the first floor
Main Stadium

A short walk from the Blue Sky Theater, you’ll find the 'Large Sports Field (301).' Here, I saw students practicing soccer in the morning! As the name suggests, it’s a very large sports field, and there’s also an underground parking lot with space for 863 cars.
The campus of Hanyang University is…
I had heard beforehand that Hanyang University has a lot of hills and stairs, so I went prepared, but when I actually took the campus tour, I was surprised that there weren't as many hills as I expected. I thought, 'This is totally easy,' but as I got overconfident and walked around without even looking at the map, I ended up getting lost (lol)
After getting lost, I ended up having to climb these stairs... There was a hill continuing ahead
Hanyang University Hospital

After getting lost, I finally arrived at none other than 'Hanyang University Hospital'
Since it's a famous university hospital, the parking lot was extremely crowded. Since we couldn't get any closer to the hospital, we decided to use a map app to get to the building at Hanyang University that we were headed to! (lol)

Since the Hanyang University campus is very large, you can use Naver Map to help guide you to your destination.
If you ever get lost like I did, make use of Naver Map!
Hanyang Eight Scenic Views (漢陽八景)
I would like to introduce the walking courses at Hanyang University here.

There are eight spots on the Hanyang University campus known as the 'Hanyang 8 Scenic Views,' and each location features statues or emblems of these image characters. If you visit all eight Hanyang 8 Scenic Views, it forms a 2.6 km walking path, allowing you to explore the campus’s beautiful scenery and historical spots. Since searching for them is also fun, if you end up attending Hanyang University’s language institute, be sure to try and find all the spots.
International Hall (Kokusai-kan)

The building where the language school is located is the 'International Hall (108).' This is a relatively new building on campus, so the interior is very clean and bright, with a global atmosphere

On the 3rd floor, there is an office, and the mascot characters 'HYlion (하이리온)' and 'HYnari (하이나리)' will greet you.
There are staff members in the office who can speak Japanese, so you can receive reliable support and feel free to consult with them.

Inside the classroom, a large monitor is installed, and classes are held with up to 15 students, so during the lesson, the teacher gives each student an opportunity to speak in Korean
There were also many classrooms on each floor, and the place was full of energy!

One of the features of Hanyang University's Language Institute is the '1:1 Mentoring' service, which allows students to practice Korean conversation and consult with Korean students about concerns regarding life in Korea. This system is highly regarded by students
Since 1-on-1 mentoring was actually taking place in the mentoring room, I was allowed to take some photos! It was impressive to see everyone having such a good time
Additionally, at the Hanyang University Language Institute, you can enroll in group insurance, and since the insurance fee is included in the tuition, it's nice that there's no need to pay extra for it
Bonus
This concludes the campus introduction
My feet got pretty tired from walking all around the campus… (lol)
Did you know that there are many delicious restaurants around Hanyang University? I want to go to a cafe around Hanyang University to get some sugar!
BROWNPOT

- Address: 서울 성동구 무학봉28길 16 1층 (Seoul Seongdong-gu Muhakbong 28-gil 16 1st floor)
- Business Hours: 10 AM – 10 PM
This time, I visited the cafe 'BROWNPOT,' located in the busy downtown area of 왕심리 (Wangsimni).

There are lots of delicious-looking hard breads, cakes, baked sweets like tigre, and other desserts
Ordered coffee and salted bread roll
In addition to coffee, a variety of other drinks such as juice and tea are also available
After much indecision about what to eat, I decided on an Americano and the popular salted bread The salted bread was chewy and delicious!
The seats are prepared on the second floor, with about 20 seats available and Wi-Fi was also provided! Many people were working with their laptops.
If you are attending the Hanyang University language institute, be sure to go try some delicious desserts.
