Our Visit


Today I visited 'Choigane Kalguksu Seongsu Branch' located in Seongsu.

The location was easily accessible, within walking distance from Ttukseom Station.

As soon as I entered the store, the warm atmosphere and delicious smell spread, making me even more eager.

The interior of the store was very clean, and there were a variety of seating options, making it a great place for two people or a good atmosphere for group gatherings.

It felt comfortable and cozy, so I thought I could enjoy it without burden no matter who I came with.



You could see the signatures of famous celebrities all around the store.

In particular, with the autograph of a world-famous superstar, it was clear at a glance that this place is a hot spot in Seongsu-dong.

The place that stood out in the store is the terrace seat!

If you prefer a cozy atmosphere, you will really like it, and there is a self-service bar on the terrace, making it convenient to use.

Usually, terrace seats can be cold, but this place has good heating and cooling facilities, so you can enjoy your meals warmly in the winter and coolly in the summer, making it a nice place to visit regardless of the season!

The menu features a shabu-shabu with a ton of mushrooms as the main dish, and in addition, you can add crispy bulgogi and various side ingredients to enjoy.

The editor ordered Special Shabu Shabu for two and Crispy Bulgogi (beef)!



Not long after, the shabu-shabu was served first.

I was amazed at the amount of mushrooms at a glance. It was clear that the owner did not hold back on adding them.

There were a total of 2 types of sauces that you could use to dip the meat.

One was a sauce with chili peppers, and the other was a sauce without chili peppers, but both were appealing.

The sauce without chili was clean, and the sauce with chili complemented the meat with its spicy flavor.



The meat that came out with it looked very fresh.

'Choigane Kalguksu Seongsu Branch' does not slice the meat in advance, but instead slices fresh meat as soon as the order is placed.

I was so happy to be able to taste fresh meat.



Fried rice includes quail eggs according to the number of people.



The other charm of 'Choigane Kalguksu Seongsu Branch ' is definitely the kalguksu!

Unlike regular noodles, we use chlorella noodles.

Chlorella powder is rich in various nutrients, allowing you to enjoy both taste and health at the same time.

You can't talk about kalguksu without mentioning geotjeori!

Fresh kimchi is made with grandma's touch, prepared fresh every morning, making it even more fresh and delicious.

In addition, all ingredients are sourced locally, so you can eat with peace of mind.

The freshly prepared cabbage salad every day, enjoyed with kalguksu, seems to enhance the flavor and excite the appetite!



I boiled it thoroughly in place until the ingredients were cooked.

The smell was so attractive the whole time it was boiling that it was hard to resist.



After some time had passed, I reduced the heat and added the meat.

I also added the fish balls that came with the meat.

The fish ball is a cute-shaped fish cake, and it was full and delightful to chew.

The tender and chewy texture blends well with the meat and broth, making the flavor feel even richer with every bite.

After the meat was cooked, I ate it with mushrooms, potatoes, and broth.

It wasn't frozen meat but really tender, and the flavor of the meat itself was alive, so it was delicious to eat with the broth.

The broth has a deep and rich flavor that harmonized well with the meat, mushrooms, and potatoes, and with each bite, the broth seeped in more deeply, enhancing the taste.

Dipping the meat in the sauce I prepared in advance was really delicious.

It had a different charm than the taste enjoyed with the broth.

The spicy flavor of the sauce complemented the meat well, highlighting the taste of the meat itself even without broth.

While enjoying shabu-shabu, the crispy bulgogi arrived.

I ordered the small dish, and there was quite a lot, and the perilla leaf wraps were also provided, making it a really satisfying arrangement.

The bulgogi was sweet and delicious, with a moist interior and a crispy exterior.

Additionally, the texture of the meat was preserved, making it delicious. When I wrapped it with the perilla leaves you provided, the flavor felt even richer.

The harmony of bulgogi and wraps offers a different taste from shabu-shabu, making the eating experience even more enjoyable.

After finishing the shabu-shabu ingredients, I added the knife-cut noodles.

The ingredients are so abundant that I already felt somewhat full!

The knife-cut noodles were already cooked once and came out, so it was nice to be able to eat them without waiting long.



The knife-cut noodles were much more chewy than other knife-cut noodles.

The thickness of the noodles was just right, and they soaked up the broth so well that just eating the kalguksu was truly delicious.

I took a bite with the leftover mushrooms, and another bite with the fresh salad, and I could keep going without getting tired of it.

After eating the knife-cut noodles, the remaining noodles were served in a bowl and the staff personally stir-fried the fried rice.

At other shabu-shabu places, you often have to make it yourself, which can be difficult, and the taste varies each time.

This place was really comfortable because the staff roasted it themselves, and because of that, I was even more.

When the fried rice was finished, they brought it to the table.

Unlike the spicy broth, the fried rice was sweet, the top was moist, and the bottom had a perfect crisp texture.

This was the best stir-fried rice I've had among all the shabu-shabu I've tried, and it was so good that I can call it the best fried rice of my life.

As expected, the staff roasted it themselves, so it was on a different level.



'Choigane Kalguksu Seongsu Branch' is a place where you can experience deep flavors with fresh ingredients and spicy broth, and enjoy the alluring soup dishes of Korea.

Thanks to the menu featuring fresh meat, a variety of side dishes, healthy chlorella noodles, and crispy yet tender fried rice, I was able to enjoy a satisfying meal.
