Our Visit

Today, I visited Iksun Farm Myeongdong Branch, which is a 2-minute walk from Myeong-dong Station exit 6.
Michelin chefs recognized Korean-produced 0.3% YBD pork belly and premium brand meat you can properly enjoy at this restaurant.

0.3% YBD Samgyeopsal
'Iksunfarm-Myeong-dong' serves grilled meat in two rounds.
The first round uses an iron plate to maximize the Maillard reaction, and they directly ignite the meat to eliminate any unwanted odor. 
This is the first draft completed. Doesn't it look delicious?
I'm excited to think about grilling and eating it perfectly from the grill to the inside.

Once this initial grilling is completed, the second grilling is done on an iron grill plate at the table.
Grilling various vegetables such as mushrooms, grated potatoes, green onions, and shishito peppers together in the pork belly fat is also a special treat.

Cut into bite-sized pieces and grilled, then topped with herb oil blended in-house at 'Iksunfarm-Myeong-dong' and finished grilling.
An oil blended with herbs like rosemary and garlic that pair well with pork, allowing you to experience a more diverse dimension of meat flavor.

Now it's time to properly enjoy the perfectly grilled pork belly. 
I recommend enjoying it with the potato strips fried in pork belly fat.
You can feel the extreme savory taste and crispness, different from French fries or potato pancakes.

I dipped it in the Maldon salt that was set as default and took a bite.
The juice came out rich, and the seasoning was just right without being too salty.

Next, I ate it with wasabi.
It helped balance the greasiness while maximizing the flavor of the meat, making them very well-matched.

'Iksunfarm-Myeong-dong' offers a variety of side dishes.
You can enjoy samgyeopsal with various side dishes in your own combination. 
I tried the seed ssamjang that will enhance the flavor of the meat.
Because it wasn't the usual plain ssamjang we knew, it had a truly savory taste.

Wasabi ssam mu, if you wrap it in lettuce and eat it together, it's really delicious.
No matter what combination you ate it in, you couldn't stop eating it. 

I also tried the aged perilla oil kimchi recommended by a staff member.
It's already tasty on its own, but when grilled on a pan, the perilla oil flavor is maximized, giving you an extreme richness.
If you eat it wrapped with a bit of wasabi and perilla oil aged kimchi, it is very clean and does not spoil the original taste of the meat, so it was really good.

The combination of eating it with myeonginamul was also good.
It was appropriately sweet and sour, making it less greasy, so I kept eating it.

Hanu Yukhoe
There are various menus, such as Korean beef tartare, as well as grilled pork belly or other pork dishes.
I was very satisfied because the freshness was guaranteed no matter which menu I chose.
If you want to taste the natural flavor of the meat rather than the seasoned taste, 'Iksunfarm-Myeong-dong' is perfect for you.

Goheung Yuzu Highball
Finished off refreshingly with a yuzu highball.
It was a flavor that women would like, with almost no taste of alcohol.
