If you're looking for quality meat near Hongik University Station, Taecho Galbi is a must-visit. They serve fresh Korean beef ribs and premium cuts grilled over charcoal for rich flavor, paired with delicious side dishes. The staff provides excellent service, grilling the meat to perfection. Just a 2-minute walk from the station, it's a great spot for a special meal.
Our Visit
Today, I visited Taecho Galbi located a 2-minute walk from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy fresh Korean beef boneless short rib and prime rib.

I liked the overall clean interior. It was very clean and well maintained, so I could trust eating here even more.

An employee will cook the meat perfectly for you at the next table so you can enjoy it at the perfect degree of doneness.


Please place your coat in the provided plastic bag before you start eating the meat. If you seal your coat and put it under the chair like this, you can keep it clean without it smelling like meat.

Korean Beef Short Rib
First, we ordered two servings of Korean beef short ribs.

There was gold leaf on the ribs, it felt really luxurious and made me feel like I was being treated. Besides, I was surprised by the fresh quality of the meat at a glance.

Please grill the vegetables served on the side, such as cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and scallions, along with the main dish.

This is how it looks after all the grilling is done. Doesn't it look really delicious?

I tried eating the grilled scallions rolled with the short ribs as recommended by the staff.

Mixing an appropriate amount of wasabi into the special garlic sauce results in a really delicious sauce. This is a secret for enjoying delicious short ribs even more, even if you don't do anything.

I ate deliciously till the end with the secret sauce that is moderately tangy and enhances the flavor.

However, if you want to experience the natural taste of the meat a bit more, I recommend the combination of salt and wasabi.

Try it with grilled vegetables like cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, leeks, etc. You can enjoy a much richer flavor.

Prime Rib
Next, since there were two of us, we ordered the S Set of the short ribs. There are S Set, M Set, and L Set, and you can order according to the number of people.

Please properly cook the pre-grilled beef ribs over charcoal.

You can separate the meat from the ribs and enjoy the proper taste.

The staff grilled it carefully until it was perfectly cooked, which was great. After it's all grilled, they will put it on a plate for you.

I first dipped it in salt and ate it. It was the flavor that best brought out the natural taste of the meat. It was my first time properly trying prime short ribs, and I was surprised at how tender and not chewy it was.

Next, I dipped it in wasabi and enjoyed the tender prime ribs without getting tired of the taste until the end. The subtle charcoal scent added to the atmosphere, making me feel really good.

Next are the basic side dishes. Mustard leaf pickles, wild sesame stem pickles, napa cabbage kimchi, and pickled radish slices are provided in total of 4 kinds.


Both pickles helped eliminate the greasiness, which was really nice.

The kimchi had a simple and clean taste.

Seasoned marinated crab is not provided as a basic side dish, but when you visit with a Creatrip reservation, you get one side menu for free. I highly recommend the seasoned marinated crab, which is very delicious with its spicy and sweet marinade.

The meat inside the marinated crab was plentiful, so I enjoyed every bite. Although it was a very satisfying meal with galbi and top-grade ribs, it was really a perfect meal when we had the delicious marinated crab.

Korean Beef Ssamjang Rice
Now that you've tasted the meat, you can't leave out the rice, can you? I tried ordering Korean Beef Ssamjang Rice with alcohol.

You can think of it as a meal with rice mixed into the soybean paste stew that we know. Contains a variety of vegetables, tofu, and plenty of Korean beef.

Try the fresh mustard leaf pickles and the gungchae pickles, which are served as side dishes. It's a taste that keeps you coming back for more.

Raw Beef Cold Soup
We also tried a plate of refreshing Raw Beef Cold Soup.

Stir the seasoning well with a ladle and mix thoroughly with the vegetables and raw meat before trying it.

Scoop a large spoonful and put it on the small plate. The refreshing broth with spicy and sweet seasoning combined harmoniously with the fresh raw beef.

Korean Raw Beef Bibimbap
Personally, this is one of the dishes I found really delicious. Even without adding any seasoning, it was really tasty on its own.

Please mix the seasonings and vegetables together well.

If you take a big spoonful and put some Yukhoe on top, it is like icing on the cake. It was a taste that made me want to keep eating!

We tried the Bokbunja Highball and Earl Grey Highball as palate cleansers—the rich aroma and sweet taste of the Bokbunja made it especially smooth. For a special meal, Taecho Galbi is a top choice with fresh Korean beef short ribs and tender prime ribs!
