Our Visit

Today I went to Kkanbu Chicken located in Myeongdong. When it comes to Korea, chicken is famous. Among them, Kkanbu Chicken is a chicken restaurant that offers a variety of chicken menu options and good quality.

The moment I walked in, I was surprised by how it had the most spacious and luxurious interior among the chicken stores I've ever visited. The interior is so nice that it could be mistaken for a restaurant rather than a chicken place.

Especially with wide group seats, comfortable sofa seating, and a variety of seats and tables prepared. You can choose where you want to sit.

They have different kinds of alcoholic beverages as well. You can choose your desired type of alcohol from various kinds such as soju, beer, cocktails, traditional liquor, whiskey, tequila, highball, etc.

The kiosk is available for ordering in multiple languages, so you can view the menu in the language you are comfortable with. There were so many chicken menu options that it was hard to choose, but I went with Korea's traditional chicken: Half seasoned, half fried menu.

The menu we had that day was half seasoned, half fried chicken, mega crunch potato, tteokbokki with sauce, and cheese balls! We ordered a side dish to go with the chicken.

Half seasoned, half fried chicken

Two different flavors of chicken were neatly served. I should taste each one quickly. It looks like there's quite a lot.

I was wondering whether to eat the seasoned one first or the fried one first I should definitely try the fried chicken first!

My favorite chicken is fried chicken. I always really enjoy dipping chicken in salt, which maximizes the savory taste of fried chicken.

I started with a chicken leg, dipped it in salt and tried it, and as expected, fried chicken needs no explanation. The chicken is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, so the texture is good and it is really delicious. Chicken tastes best when you eat it with your hands!

But if you don't want your hands to get dirty, they also prepare one fork per person sensibly. For marinades, especially, it may be neat and good to leave them in a bowl and tear them with a fork.

Next, let's move on to season chicken. The appearance of the seasoned chicken is very beautiful. It really looks delicious.

Seasoned chicken is sweet, savory, and so delicious. The perfect harmony of sweet sauce, spicy seasoning, crispy batter, and moist meat! Seasoned chicken is not spicy at all and is great to eat sweet. I highly recommend trying it.

Beverage

If you make a reservation through Creatrip, you will get one free canned drink per table. Chicken and soda are a must-have combination. You can choose from 5 drinks. Besides the drinks, eating delicious chicken made me crave alcohol.

Soju

Traditional Liquor

This place has a really wide selection of alcohol. They have a greater variety of drinks than most bars. They have everything from soju and traditional liquor to beer highballs. There are various sides available, and you can enjoy them with your preferred drink, offering the joy of choice.

Beer

I chose beer among the various kinds. Both bottled beer and draft beer are available. Beer and chicken are really a good match for each other, right? In Korea, they shorten chicken and beer to 'chimaek.'

If you're thirsty or feeling a bit heavy, wash it down with a glass of draft beer. Then it feels like I can eat an unlimited amount of chicken.

Now that we've enjoyed the chicken enough, let's take a look at the sides. The sides are French fries, tteokbokki, and cheese balls. They all go well with chicken.

Cheese Ball

I'll try the cute round cheese balls.

When I cut the cheese ball, it was filled with delicious cream cheese.

And the outside is really chewy and stretches endlessly. The chewy and delicious taste of cream cheese can be felt in your mouth.

Soup Tteokbokki

After eating a lot of greasy food, spicy food is the best. Chicken and tteokbokki go so well together that many Koreans eat them together.

The tteokbokki here has long rice cakes that are like noodles. It's chewy, spicy, and delicious when eaten with green onion slices. This includes various ingredients like rice cakes and fish cakes, and it has a large portion. It's a bit spicy but perfect to cleanse the palate after chicken.

French fries

Finally, let's try some French fries that are good for picking up one by one. The fries look thick and crispy.

It is served with two sauces, so dip according to your taste and enjoy it as a side with the chicken.

The chicken skin is crispy and juicy inside. It tastes really good.

To cleanse your palate, please also make sure to eat the famous pickled radish from Korea between bites.

If you visit Myeongdong in Korea, make sure to go to Kkanbu Chicken to eat chicken, highly recommended!
