Today I went to the premium oden bar izakaya 'Busanjip Supgil Branch'. Busanjip' is a famous Izakaya in Korea known for its unique interior design and atmosphere. Also, the fact that you can cook fish cakes at each individual table provides an enjoyable experience.
Wow, the interior is made of wood and has a really nice feel. Although it is in Korea, it feels like stepping into a Japanese pub. It's especially nice to browse because there are many drinks displayed in the cabinet.
This is a shelf for storing personal drinking glasses. Regulars here are said to leave their personal glass and enjoy drinks.
The biggest difference between this place and other izakaya bars is that there is fish cake broth in the middle of the table. The editor ordered four dishes this time: the fish cake for 2 special, beef tataki, boneless chicken karaage, and aged salmon sashimi.
After waiting for a while, the Fish Cake 2-Person Special came out. The fish cake special for 2 people includes a choice of 2 Busan fish cakes + fish cake soup + 2 twisted fish cakes + tofu pocket + black konjac + fish cake ball + Kirimochi + Hanpen + Chikuwa + Suji, totaling over 10 types of fish cakes. If it is hard to choose 2 kinds of Busan fish cakes, please let the owner bring the most delicious fish cakes for you.
Now I will tell you how to eat it. There is a wooden spoon on the corner of the desk.
Use a ladle to pour the heated soup into individual cups and take a sip! The soup is really rich and delicious.
The first item we need to soak in the broth is 'Mur-tteok'. 'Mur-tteok' is also a representative dish of Busan. It becomes tender and tasty when cooked for a long time, so we recommend putting it in the broth first.
From this point on, you can freely add the fish cakes you want. You can put them all at once or add them one by one slowly. The editor decided to try the cheese fish cake first.
When you go in a group, they hygienically use tongs to put fish cakes in your individual cup.
I tried fish cakes with cheese, served with soy sauce and wasabi. The more you chew, the richer the flavor of the cheese feels.
Next, I'll try 'konjac'. Konjac needs to be cooked for at least 3 minutes so that it is not hard and can be enjoyed with a tender texture.
The following is 'Gochu Japchae Fish Cake'. The editor found it the most delicious and recommends this fish cake.
If you chew it, you can taste japchae and actually feel the glass noodles. You can taste the spicy pepper, so I recommend it to those who like something spicy.
The following is the most commonly seen familiar fish cake 'Kkobus' at a pojangmacha in Korea.
I'll try the 'Hanpan' that keeps making its presence felt beside me. What is on top of the 'Han fan' is a Japanese rice cake called 'Kirimochi'. I tried Hanpa for the first time, and as soon as I put it in my mouth, it melted like marshmallow. If you like unique and soft textures, I recommend it.
Next, I'll try the cute-shaped 'Yubu Mochi Pouch'. When I cut it open, there is chewy rice cake inside. The outer tofu skin is savory, and the inside is chewy and really delicious.
This is a 'chikuwa' fish cake. It's the type of fish cake we've seen often in Japanese comics! 'Chikuwa' comes out fried, so if you put it in the shared broth, it will become oily, and it is recommended that you refrain from adding it. It's good to cut it right up and eat it; it's savory and tasty, and it's good to dip it in a personal cup of broth.
In between, enjoy some chewy and good-textured sushi as well. Now that we have tasted all kinds of fish cakes, let's try some salmon.
The color of the salmon is really beautiful. The special thing about 'Cheolgil Busanjip' is that you can taste sashimi that has undergone various kinds of aging processes that you can't taste anywhere else. They prepare salmon in three different ways: 'soy sauce', 'yuzu', and 'coffee beans'.
I took a bite of the salmon and was amazed. It was so fresh and perfectly aged. And the owner personally goes out on the boat to catch the salmon.
First, to appreciate the flavor, do not dip it in the sauce and try all three types of sashimi. After that, you can enjoy it freely with sesame sauce, soy sauce, and wasabi to your taste. It is well-aged and tastes good even without the sauce.
All three have different colors and appearances, so you can distinguish them by tasting. To be honest, at first I wondered if aging it with 'coffee beans' would be a good match, but after tasting it, I liked how the subtle coffee bean aroma blended in perfectly.
I'll enjoy plenty of salmon and then move on to beef tataki. Tataki can be enjoyed with onions, wasabi, ponzu sauce, and a variety of other ways.
The boneless chicken karaage stayed crispy even after some time. The chicken dipped in the accompanying sauce was, of course, delicious.
You can enjoy the chicken with a mayonnaise + wasabi combination or chili sauce, so you never get tired of it.
The izakaya menu is all so delicious that I have to drink! The owner recommended me a drink, which is a traditional alcohol called Daetongju. The bamboo shape and wooden cup are so cute. The alcohol paired well with all the side dishes.
The table was full of a hearty meal. All the food was delicious and it was fun to adjust the fish cake soup to our taste. If you want to spend a special and fun time with friends or family, I recommend 'Busan Jip'. Don't miss out on exclusive discount coupons from Creatrip!
