Uirimji (Yongchu Waterfall)
It's a place where you can meet 'Yongchu Waterfall', which holds the highest proportion of hashtags related to Jecheon, among 'Uirimji', one of the 10 scenic views of Jecheon with thousands of years of history. Especially on days with a lot of water, if you visit 'Yongchu Waterfall', you can see a scenery perfect for capturing a memorable shot.

Visit Review
Today, I'm planning to use the 'Jecheon Tourist Taxi Tour'.
The editor plans to take an express bus and meet the driver in front of the terminal station, so when making the reservation, they entered 'Jecheon Express Bus Terminal' as the departure point.
I received a confirmation email with the taxi driver's information, reservation time, and meeting place the day before the reservation date.
The taxi arrived on time for the meeting!
Tour Schedule | |
12:00 | Pick up at Jecheon Express Bus Terminal and depart for Uirimji |
12:15 | Arrive at 'Uirimji' and tour |
13:30 | Depart for 'Subtropical Smart Greenhouse' |
13:40 | Arrive at 'Subtropical Smart Greenhouse' and tour |
14:20 | Depart for 'Cheongpung Lake Tourist Monorail' |
15:05 | Arrive at 'Cheongpung Lake Tourist Monorail' and tour |
16:20 | Move to hotel |
17:00 | Arrive at hotel and end of tour |
The editor planned in advance how to schedule the 5 hours.
If a desired restaurant or café is added in the middle of the tour, the schedule will be adjusted flexibly.
The taxi is a mid-sized sedan that can accommodate up to 4 people.
The inside of the taxi was very clean and comfortable.
It's convenient to travel privately with family and friends, not strangers.
The editor booked the 'Healing Course (5 hours)' and decided to proceed with the tour as recommended.
'Healing Course (5 hours)' includes Jecheon’s key course 'Uirimji (Yongchu Waterfall)', a 'Subtropical Smart Greenhouse' where you can heal, and a 'Cheongpung Lake Tourist Monorail' course where you can enjoy beautiful nature.
If you want to visit many places and move around for 5 hours, make sure to have a hearty lunch before you start.
Arrived at the 'Uirimji History Museum' as the first destination.
'Uirimji History Museum' is a place where you can experience the history of Korea and engage in various activities, showcasing the history and culture of Jecheon!
I recommend studying at the history museum before seeing '의림지' to make it a more meaningful visit.
The driver got off with us and bought the tickets. One of the advantages of a taxi tour is that if the driver buys the admission tickets for tourist attractions, you get a discount!
It costs 2,000 won for adults, but we were able to enter for free because the taxi driver got the tickets for us.
The driver kindly purchased all the tickets for us and set the meeting time and place after the tour as planned, so we had nothing to worry about.
The history museum is a place that preserves the history and traditions of Korea, and the editor was deeply impressed.
Especially, the best part was that there were so many various experiences, so it was never boring.
You can draw and display my photo on the screen, and you can also receive this photo via email.
It was really fun because you could experience the smelt fishing game that took place when 'Uirimji' froze in winter.
It took about 25 minutes to see the whole museum! Shall we now head to the center of the famous 'Uirimji'?
Isn't the harmony of the trees painted in various colors and the lake really beautiful in the fall?
Surrounded by mountains, you can feel nature even more. Jecheon City feels like the air is really fresh.
As you slowly walk along the lake, you might feel as if time has stopped. It seems like you could take a perfect photo no matter where you choose as your background.
You can enjoy a pedal boat experience where you can relax on a bench and enjoy the vast 'Uirimji' lake!
The day the editor went, it was a rainy day, so unfortunately, we couldn't ride it.
If you walk along the lake, you can find a glass observatory.
The glass observatory is made of glass under the bridge, allowing you to see below.
The strong current flows below.
The editor was scared and walked carefully. If you like thrills, walking on the glass in the middle would be fun.
If you cross the glass observatory, you'll find a pavilion, and this is the view from there. It's really beautiful.
If you keep walking, there is a path to 'Yongchu Waterfall' next to the pine tree road.
'Yongchu Waterfall' looks like a cave or a tunnel and is amazingly shaped.
Inside, you can see the waterfall flowing down through the open hole. It seems like the perfect spot to capture a life shot.
Wow, it's amazing to see that the place I passed by looked like that!
We're almost at the final course now. If you walk along this trail, you can reach Uirimji Park and Parkland.
Walking this trail was truly healing.
The duck is happily playing in the water, and the green nature makes the mind feel at ease.
'Uirimji' is a course that takes at least 1 to 2 hours.
It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to look around the editor.
It only takes 10 minutes from 'Uirimji' to the 'Subtropical Smart Greenhouse'.
The driver knew where to meet at 'Uirimji' and decided, so it was really nice to board immediately and arrive quickly even though it was raining.
Arrived at the 'smart greenhouse'. The greenhouse was built not long ago, so it was the driver's first time visiting as well.
It was bigger and cleaner than expected, so I was excited even before entering.
When you enter, there is an aquarium at the entrance and they are growing vegetables above it.
The fish also looked around and went into the entrance.
The greenhouse also had subtropical plants that are hard to see in Korea.
It was warm inside when we went in from the rain.
When walking down the street, the air was full of freshness.
Even though there are many plants, it doesn't feel humid, so it seems like the air adjusts automatically.
This place seems perfect for a short healing trip when you need a break.
The editor's favorite place was this forest path. Isn't it really awesome?
It was amazing to have such a space inside.
I captured a life shot here.
There were spaces available to sit and rest in the middle, and overall it was clean and fascinating to see various plants like bananas, mangosteens, and durians that are not commonly seen in Korea.
And if you scan the QR code attached to the plant, you can see detailed information about the plant.
When you exit the smart greenhouse, there is a place called the agricultural education center, and it is also beautifully arranged like an outdoor garden.
We had a fun time looking at various stuffed insects.
The editor took about 40 minutes to look around the 'Subtropical Smart Greenhouse'.
Shall we now head to the last course, 'Cheongpung Lake Tourist Monorail'? It's about a 45-minute distance from the greenhouse.
I looked back for a long time, and the driver kindly gave me snacks, thinking I might be hungry.
Eating snacks together and communicating about Jecheon made the journey not boring at all.
And the driver recommended taking the monorail up and coming down by cable car, so we decided to try it that way!
It seems like the big advantage of a taxi tour is that you don't have to worry about parking fees and parking spaces.
Please wait at the designated location until we return from enjoying our tour.
Finally, we've arrived at the tourist monorail station. I'm excited and a bit nervous about going up on the monorail.
I'll show you the schedule, and then you can board the monorail that looks like that.
The monorail is open on both sides, so it seems like it would be really great for enjoying the scenery.
Safely fasten your seatbelt and let's go.
The train has finally departed. Riding it through the mountains is a unique experience. It feels like an adventure, and the air is fresh and nice.
It goes electrically, but it almost feels like I'm driving it myself. The editor was really fun.
Try taking a selfie on the monorail! It seems like a special and unique experience.
When you get off the monorail, you can go up to the observatory. I arrived at the observatory just 25 minutes after taking the cable car!
Just follow the arrow to the observatory.
The observatory is equipped with various amenities such as a convenience store and a cafe, and it is very spacious, consisting of three floors.
You can take photos at the photo zones and enjoy the scenery as you go up from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor in order.
It's a heart-shaped observatory, isn't it so cute?
It seems like a great place to come with your loved family or partner and create cherished memories.
You can go up here and see the mountains.
From the observatory, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the various directions and shapes of the mountains.
When you look around at the scenery, it feels refreshing.
We decided to take the cable car on the way down, so let's try using the cable car.
The cable car is divided into regular and crystal, and the crystal cable car has a transparent floor.
If you want to feel the thrill, try the Crystal Cable Car! Crystal is 5,000 won more expensive than the regular one.
Please board slowly, carefully, and safely following the staff's instructions.
The interior is quite spacious, accommodating up to 10 people.
And since the door closes automatically, you can just sit still. I felt a little nervous but also excited.
Wow, doesn't the cable car view look amazing? The village surrounded by mountains looks small and so pretty.
The scenery is stunning, so it seems like the photos turn out well no matter how you take them.
It was really great and fulfilling to experience both the monorail and the cable car.
I highly recommend taking the cable car and monorail back and forth!!
After coming down on the cable car, the driver waited for us at the parking lot near the cable car.
Thanks to that, I was able to take a taxi right away without walking for a long time.
We said goodbye to the driver who provided a comfortable drive and a friendly smile for 8 hours.
'Jecheon Sightseeing Taxi Tour' was very convenient as I could comfortably leave my luggage in the taxi and freely plan the course as I wanted.
Thanks to the driver's kind explanation and recommendation, we were able to solve unexpected situations without any problems.
If you want to escape the noisy city and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Korea, I highly recommend the 'Jecheon Tourist Taxi Tour'!
