Our Visit
Today, I'm set to use the Jecheon Tour Taxi. I’ll be arriving by express bus and meeting the driver at Jecheon Express Bus Terminal, which I entered as the pickup point when booking. The day before, I received a confirmation email with the driver’s details, reservation time, and meeting location. The taxi arrived right on time for our meeting!

I planned out the 8-hour itinerary in advance, but if you want to add a restaurant or cafe stop during the tour, you can adjust the schedule flexibly.
The taxi is a mid-sized sedan, perfect for up to four people. The interior was clean and comfortable, making it ideal for a private trip with family or friends instead of with strangers.
I booked the Essential Course (8 hours) and decided to follow the recommended route. This tour covers Jecheon’s top spots: Uirimji, the scenic Cheongpung Lake Cable Car, and the Oksunbong Suspension Bridge trekking course. It’s a great way to explore Jecheon’s must-see locations. Plus, with the flexibility to add stops within the 8 hours, we’re planning to visit a nice restaurant or cafe along the way.
Our first stop was the Uirimji History Museum, where you can dive into Jecheon’s history and culture and enjoy hands-on activities related to Korean history. For a more meaningful experience, I recommend exploring the museum before visiting Uirimji itself.
The driver accompanied us and bought our tickets—a great perk of the taxi tour is that when the driver purchases tickets, you often get a discount! The standard adult fare was 2,000 won, but thanks to our driver, we got in for free. He also arranged the meeting time and place for after the tour, so everything was taken care of for us.
The history museum is a place that preserves the history and traditions of Korea. Especially the best part was that there were many activities to experience, so it was not boring at all.
By drawing a picture, you can display your photo on the screen and also receive it by email.
Experiencing the smelt fishing games, just like when Uirimji freezes in winter, was a lot of fun. The whole museum took about 25 minutes to explore. Now, let’s head to the heart of the famous Uirimji!
Wow, the harmony of colorful autumn trees reflecting on the lake is truly stunning! Surrounded by mountains, Jecheon feels especially fresh and clear. A slow walk along the lake makes time feel as if it’s standing still, and every angle seems perfect for capturing a beautiful photo.
At Uirimji Lake, you can relax on a bench or take a ride on a duck boat across the vast waters! Unfortunately, it was raining on the day I visited, so we couldn’t try the boat.
As you walk along the lake, you’ll come across a glass observatory built under the bridge, offering a view of the strong current below. I walked carefully since it was a bit nerve-wracking, but if you enjoy a thrill, standing on the glass in the center is definitely exciting!
After crossing the glass observatory, there's a pavilion that you can climb to see the view, it's truly beautiful.
If you continue along the pine tree path, you’ll reach the trail leading to Yongchu Waterfall. The waterfall has a unique cave-like, tunnel appearance, and inside, water flows down through an open hole—a perfect spot for capturing a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
We’re nearing the final stop of the course. Following this trail brings you to Uirimji Park and Parkland. Walking here felt truly refreshing—the ducks happily playing in the water and the lush greenery create a peaceful atmosphere. Uirimji typically takes 1 to 2 hours to explore, and I spent around 2 hours soaking it all in.
We met the driver, had a meal, and headed to the cable car. The drive from Uirimji took about 40 minutes, and the reserved tour taxi parking made it easy. After our walk, I mentioned I was hungry, and the driver recommended a popular restaurant in the cable car building.
*Courtyard by the Lake (호반의 뜰): 2nd Floor, 166 Cultural Heritage Road, Cheongpung-myeon, Jecheon-si, Chungbuk
The driver recommended a restaurant called "Courtyard by the Lake." I was initially surprised by the number of side dishes, but even more by how delicious each one was—I kept eating even after I was full!
I especially loved the squid salad—it’s definitely worth a try! Being inside the cable car building made it convenient to dine and then head straight to the ride. Now that we’ve finished eating, shall we go take the cable car?

The driver came up with us and got us another ticket. We were able to take the cable car, which costs 18,000 KRW for adults, with a 2,000 KRW discount.
Since the ticket is a round-trip ticket, make sure not to throw it away and keep it safe.
The cable car offers two options: regular and crystal, with the crystal featuring a fully transparent floor for an extra thrill. For those seeking adventure, the Crystal Cable Car is a great choice, costing 5,000 KRW more than the regular.
Please board slowly, carefully, and safely according to the staff's instructions. The interior is quite spacious and can accommodate up to 10 people. And since the door closes automatically, you can just sit still. I was a little nervous and excited.
Wow, doesn't the cable car view look amazing? The village surrounded by mountains looks small and so pretty. The scenery is so amazing that photos turn out well no matter how you take them.
When you get off the cable car, you can go up to the observatory. We arrived at the observatory just 12 minutes after boarding the cable car! Just follow the arrows to the observatory.
The observatory is equipped with various amenities such as a convenience store and a café, and it is very spacious with three floors. You can take photos at the photo zones and enjoy the scenery as you go up from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor in order.
It's a heart-shaped observatory, isn't it so cute? It seems like a great place to come with your beloved family or partner and create precious memories.
You can go up here to see the mountains. From the observatory, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the various directions and shapes of the mountains. When you look around at the scenery, it feels refreshing. It took about 30 minutes round trip by cable car, 30 minutes to view the observatory.
Now we’re meeting the driver at the parking lot to head to Okseonbong Suspension Bridge. It’s about a 50-minute drive, but the driver kept us entertained with stories about Jecheon, so the time flew by. Having the driver means I don’t need to worry about timing or walking long distances, and I feel like I have more energy to enjoy the sights.
Finally, we arrived at 'Oksunbong Suspension Bridge'. The day the editor went, it was raining, but it's a place that can be used even in rainy weather. Admission is 3,000 per person, but 2,000 KRW is reimbursed in Jecheon currency, which can be used at restaurants and cafes within Jecheon City.
Just looking at the suspension bridge makes me feel a bit dizzy, but the view is so stunning that I can’t resist crossing it. Suspension bridges may sway a little, but they’re built to be sturdy, so there’s no need to worry.
It's scarier if you look down, but it seems like a thrilling and fun unique experience. As I walked, I eventually started to enjoy it.
Even with the rain, isn’t the scenery stunning? I can’t believe I took this photo myself. From the suspension bridge, you can spot the Cheongpung Lake cruise ship, and once you cross, there’s a walking trail on the right. Taking it slow, exploring the area takes about an hour.
With all the stops completed, we headed to our final destination, Jecheon Station, for the return to Seoul. The drive from Oksunbong Suspension Bridge took about 50 minutes, wrapping up the 8-hour tour.
We said goodbye to our driver, who provided friendly service and a smooth ride for the entire 8 hours. The Jecheon Tourist Taxi Tour was incredibly convenient—I could leave my luggage in the taxi and plan the route freely. With the driver’s helpful explanations and recommendations, we handled any unexpected situations with ease. If you’re looking to escape the city and enjoy Korea’s beautiful natural scenery, I highly recommend the Jecheon Private Taxi Tour!
