Our Visit

Today, I stopped by 'Banga Charcoal Grilled Chicken Ribs', just a 1-minute walk from Exit 7 of Hongik univ. Station. Located on Hongdae's main street, it's perfect for enjoying the sights and fun of the area after a meal.

They offer free Wi-Fi, phone charging, an English menu, and other handy amenities.

The bathroom is clean and convenient to use.

Once you're seated, you can place your order through the kiosk. It supports multiple languages, making it easy to choose your preferred one. Plus, each menu item has a photo, which helps you decide what to order.

After you place your order, side dishes and sauces are brought to the table. They include perilla leaf kimchi, ssamjang, and a salad.

Salad is a taste that combines fresh vegetables and sweet and sour oriental dressing.

Each person gets their own serving of Dakgalbi on a plate, making it both hygienic and easy to enjoy.

Most Korean restaurants have napkins and utensils stored in a drawer under the table! At Banga Charcoal Grilled Dakgalbi, there’s a large sign to help you easily locate the chopsticks.

As I looked around inside, I noticed the self-serve bar for additional side dishes. If you need more sauce or sides during your meal, you can help yourself.

Three different sauces are available, each labeled with a name and description, making it easy to pick the one you want to enjoy.

When refilling your food, don't forget to only take what you can eat!

The heat of the charcoal is very hot, so be careful.

When you use the Creatrip coupon, french fries are provided as a service.

Baby Pig Eggplant Dish

Flavorful sauce, deep-fried pork, and eggplant tempura blended well to create a delicious taste.

The tempura was just the right size to eat comfortably in one bite. It goes well even when eaten with vegetables.

Banga Set (450g)

Banga Set consists of salt-grilled, soy sauce-grilled, seasoned grilled, and chicken breast, so you can taste various parts. We've also ordered a highball to enjoy with dakgalbi.

From left to right, it's lemon, passion fruit, and makgeolli highball.

Highball as well as various fruit soju are also available! If you come to Korea, I recommend trying fruit soju at least once.

Now it’s time to grill the meat. The pineapple, tomato, and colorful sweet potato rice cakes that come with it make for a vibrant and tasty combo.

Chicken galbi set is recommended to be grilled in the order of chicken breast, salt, soy sauce, and seasoned. Usually, the staff kindly grills it for you, so you can enjoy it comfortably.

Next, I will put the pork neck salt grill on the grill to cook.

Grilled salt was good with a savory flavor, aged well with good ingredients, and was clean without any fishy smell. Tender texture and bursting juiciness in the mouth were excellent.

The clean taste of grilled meat with salt gets even better when paired with the special garlic yuzu sauce. You can also try dipping it in the spicy soy sauce—choose your favorite and enjoy!

Now, let’s try the soy sauce marinated grilled dishes! The soy sauce marinade had a subtly sweet and salty flavor that was really appealing. The charcoal grilling made the sauce taste even better.

Finally, let’s try the seasoned grilled meat. It’s best to save this for last since it has the strongest flavor.

The seasoning is mildly spicy, making it easy to enjoy even for those who aren’t used to spicy food.

For a tasty tip, dip the meat wrapped in perilla leaf pickles into the garlic yuzu sauce. The mix of savory sesame leaves and refreshing yuzu sauce creates a unique twist on dakgalbi. If perilla leaves aren’t your thing, you can wrap the meat in ssam instead.

Refreshing and cool mul-naengmyeon is perfect for finishing off a meal.

If you’re looking for the best Dakgalbi in Hongdae, with convenient transportation and nearby attractions, make sure to visit Banga!
