Our Visit
Today, I visited the 'Aya Coffee' located between Seolleung Station and Yeoksam Station. This is a cafe that roasts coffee beans directly in the store and offers high-quality coffee and drinks. Especially, the signature menu here typically includes milk, so it's funny that the cafe's logo is shaped like a milk carton.
The interior of the store is bright white-tone, giving a clean and sophisticated feel. Also, there is a space inside the store where you can roast coffee beans, so it was interesting to see the process of making coffee directly. Here are pretty colorful posters and unique props scattered around, it's a photo zone perfect for taking pictures.
Inside the cafe, there is a YouTube Silver Button! With over 190,000 subscribers, the popularity of this cafe is truly felt. Furthermore, the barista of 'Aya Coffee' placed second in the Korean Team Barista Championship and third in the World Latte Art Battle, with various awards displayed inside the store.
Menu was really diverse so there were a lot of choices! Since the menu is also prepared in English and Japanese, foreign travelers can easily place orders.
Next to the counter, there were delicious croissants and desserts on display that caught my eye. Pairing a crispy croissant with a sweet drink seemed like it would be a match made in heaven!
With Creatrip coupons, you can also get a 10% discount on all menu items.
Aya Coffee [only ice]
I ordered the signature 'AYA COFFEE.' With homemade caramel, rich coffee, and smooth cream, it was perfectly sweet and creamy. You can mix it or enjoy the cream and coffee separately. The smooth, sweet flavor was a real treat!
SUMMER HUNTER [only ice]
Next, I tried the refreshing 'SUMMER HUNTER.' This iced drink combines coffee sherbet and honey milk for a sweet, refreshing taste. Gently stir it to mix the honey, milk, and coffee, and enjoy. It’s not overly sweet, but has a rich coffee milk flavor, perfect for beating the summer heat!
Peach Iced Tea
Next, I tried the refreshing 'Peach Iced Tea'. On top of the drink are blueberries and dried fruits, so the visual is really pretty and appetizing.
Croffle Set
I wanted to eat a sweet dessert, so I ordered the 'Croffle set'. Crunchy waffles topped with famous Häagen-Dazs ice cream. With ice cream, the sweetness spreads in the mouth and creates a fantastic harmony!
Drinks were so delicious that I had to order more. This time, I decided to try popular drinks and desserts rising in popularity in Korea.
Matcha Latte
First, 'Matcha Latte' was impressive with a sharp and refreshing taste unlike the usual sweet Matcha Latte.
Dalgona Latte [only ice]
And I also tried the globally famous 'dalgona latte'.
This drink is a sweet menu that can be enjoyed with crispy homemade dalgona and milk at the store.
Thick and crispy dalgona is placed on top of the drink, and the drink is filled with dalgona powder.
Dalgona pieces can be eaten separately, or mixed with beverages to enjoy a sweeter taste.
Original Crookie (croissant+cookie) / Matcha Crookie (croissant+cookie)
Desserts are a must-try too! I ordered the popular 'Crookie,' a mix of crispy croissant and chewy cookie. At 'Aya Coffee,' they offer it in original, matcha, and chocolate flavors. Unfortunately, the chocolate flavor was sold out when I visited!
First, I tried the 'Original Crookie'. Inside the croissant, there are cookies, and there are also lots of cookies on top.
Next, I tried the 'Matcha Crookie' and the rich flavor of the matcha cookie filled my mouth, it was really delicious. If you are looking for a new dessert, make sure to give it a try!
Cafe Latte (art)
The barista of 'Aya Coffee' has won several awards at latte art competitions. So this time, I ordered a latte art. Smooth and nutty espresso poured over latte art, it makes you feel good just by looking at it. The fragrance is very nice and I was able to experience the proper latte taste for the first time in a long time.
* This menu may not be available for order depending on the cafe situation.
Americano
Koreans always order an 'Americano', which they drink at least one glass a day. Americano made with mild beans is smoothly brewed, leaving behind a mild taste and clean aftertaste, which was satisfying for coffee enthusiasts.
Black Sesame Cream Latte
Also, I tried 'Black Sesame Cream Latte', and from the first sip, it was full of nutty flavor. For those who enjoy a savory yet sweet flavor, I highly recommend this menu.
Finally, I wanted to drink a refreshing ade, so I ordered 'Green Grape Ade' and 'Passion Fruit Ade'.
Green Grape Ade
First, the 'Green Grape Ade' is filled with green grape pieces inside the ade. The green grape syrup has a weighty feel, so it's layered at the bottom, so you should mix it well with a straw and drink it. 'Green Grape Ade' was filled with blueberry bits, making it fun to chew, and thanks to its refreshing taste, I could enjoy it coolly.
Fashion Fruit Ade
Following, the 'Fashion Fruits Ade' has a strong refreshing taste. 'Fashion Fruit Ade' is full of fruity flavor with a refreshing sweet and sour taste, making you feel refreshed with every sip.
When the weather is nice, you can sit outside the store in the outdoor seating area and enjoy a warm sunshine while leisurely sipping coffee. Chatting with friends while enjoying delicious drinks and desserts, there is no better place than this!
I've tried a variety of signature items at 'Aya Coffee.' The rich aroma of the coffee beans was amazing, and the non-coffee drinks were just as delicious. With its bright, stylish interior, it’s perfect for snapping photos for social media. For a true coffee experience in Korea, we highly recommend 'Aya Coffee'!
