Our Visit

We made a visit to ONYAD ourselves to see what the hype was all about! This is the 1st branch, which is just outside Seoul Forest Station Exit 2. Even just the logo itself looks super trendy!

The salon is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and the stairway is decorated nicely with ONYAD's posters and logo. You can immediately tell that this is a really trendy Seongsu hair salon!

In between the 2nd and 3rd floor of the salon, there's a photo zone with a mirror where you can take pictures with your new hairstyle!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and a beautiful interior with big windows. Many Korean hair salons have really nice interiors, but ONYAD almost felt like a cafe or showroom! 

We could tell that they put a lot of thought into the interior design. This might be one of the nicest, most aesthetic hair salons in Seongsu we've seen!

After waiting for a little bit, the staff guided us to these lockers where we could store our things.

We were then seated for consultation and given a choice of coffee or tea along with snacks! Hair salon appointments can be a while, so it was great to have something to munch on!

BEFORE

My hair is bleached so the color had faded a lot and was quite damaged. My stylist recommended that I go for a warm dark brown color and to just trim the ends and clean up the layers while adding face framing side pieces for the cut.

My friend wanted more of a red tone in her hair, so the stylist recommended adding more red but a tone darker to complement her skin tone better. She also wanted to try the hush cut, so the stylist recommended a lighter version of it with less extreme layers.

During consultation, we were given a short questionnaire to fill out regarding our hair concerns and style preferences so that the stylists could give us the most detailed consultation. They even had a device to detect our skin tone and personal color! 

After showing us examples of some different hair colors based on our consultation results, they went straight into the hair coloring process. 

Before applying the hair dye, they gave me a plastic eye cover to protect my eyes from any products and applied a product on my scalp to protect it from the hair dye.

After the dye was completely applied, I waited for about 30 minutes for it to set. The stylist came and checked if it was ready, then washed it out with shampoo and conditioner. 

Since my hair was quite damaged, the stylist mixed in some treatment with the dye, so my hair felt much softer after! The color already looked so good while my hair was being dried and it suit me so much better!

We were both really satisfied with the cut and color we got! The hairstylists at ONYAD are very experienced and we could tell they were very knowledgeable about the latest Korean hair trends.

The results speak for themselves! I felt like a completely new person and everything that the stylist recommended suit me perfectly! She gave me that trendy Seongsu look that I've always wanted.

My friend also loved her new hairstyle! The stylist gave her the perfect amount of layers to complement her face shape. The hair color also turned out a much more vibrant red, which is just what she wanted!

The duration of the procedure typically takes between 1 to 3 hours.
