Our Visit

Today I visited Ilpyeon Myeongdong Branch. It is a premium Korean beef specialty restaurant that grills the top 4% of the highest quality beef.

As you enter, you can see a large low-temperature maturing refrigerator. Ilpyeon Myeongdong Branch brings out the best flavor of meat through 21 days of low-temperature aging. Top 4% (premium grade) highest quality Hanwoo can be visually confirmed to maintain the highest quality and freshness.

The interior is clean and luxurious. Comfortable chairs and spacious tables make it a great place to enjoy a meal. It's a suitable place to commemorate or hold company dinners. A few tables have windows next to them, so you can see the lively sight of Myeongdong.

When you make a reservation and visit, the side dishes are prepared for easy eating. Acorn jelly, green onion kimchi, water parsley, white kimchi, and other side dishes that pair well with Hanwoo beef are neatly packed.

Side dishes were tasted first, but the taste was very clean, not a stimulating seasoning taste. All side dishes taste full of flavor when eaten with Hanwoo beef, so I am looking forward to the combination with beef. Especially, pickled onions are fresh because we make soy sauce sauce every morning.

In the middle of the table, there is a charcoal grill. When you grill hanwoo over charcoal, you can experience the best taste as the juices come alive.

Menus are also available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese, so you don't have to worry even if you don't know Korean! Also, the menu includes soju, soju, highball, and house wine, making it perfect to enjoy Hanwoo and alcohol together.

I ordered a Luxury Set, a Tenderloin (100g), a Sirloin (100g), Yukhoe bibimbap, Yukhoe cold noodles (bibim), Hanwoo raw beef sashimi, and Hanwoo Yukhoe today. Korean beef filled with smoke made a grand entrance first!

Luxury set + sirloin steak (100g) + tenderloin (100g)

Various cuts of Hanwoo beef to grill with mushrooms and pumpkin beautifully arranged. There is gold powder on top of the Hanwoo, giving it a luxurious feel. The components of the luxury set may vary depending on the daily meat condition. Luxury set is good for 2-3 people to share.

The luxury set allows you to taste a variety of Hanwoo cuts filled with marbling in a pinkish color. This Hanwoo with such a fine color looks like it's seeing it for the first time.

Hanwoo raw beef Sashimi

Hanwoo raw beef sashimi is said to use only Hanwoo slaughtered on the same day. So the taste is really fresh and smooth.

Hanwoo raw beef sashimi with sesame oil aroma in Hanwoo was flavorful and nutty. The source is not salty so you can freely enjoy it!

Hanwoo Yukhoe

Hanwoo Yukhoe is the same cut as hanwoo raw beef sashimi, but the way it is prepared is different, so the texture is different. When eating yukhoe, there are often times when the strong seasoning and garlic flavor overpower the taste of the beef, but the hanwoo yukhoe here has a mild seasoning and garlic flavor, so it has a fresh taste.

You can taste the true flavor of yukhoe without raw eggs. The meat itself was delicious and sweet, it felt like melting in my mouth! If you want to experience the true freshness of Hanwoo, I recommend ordering Hanwoo raw beef sashimi or Hanwoo Yukhoe.

The first part to be grilled is the sirloin. Staff is grilling meat to suit the taste of the guests, so you can enjoy the meat comfortably while having a conversation with friends.

Steak is said to be most delicious when cooked medium rare. If you can't eat the undercooked food well, you can ask the staff to cook it more for you. The staff cut the meat cooked to a delicious medium rare to a good size for eating.

Garlic chives, mushrooms were also grilled together. The staff transferred perfectly cooked meat beautifully onto the plate. During grilling, the strong meat flavor intensified, so I'll make sure to try it quickly.

The first bite of the sirloin was dipped in salt. Ilpyeon Myeongdong Branch uses a special salt made by mixing low salt content and 6 kinds of herbs. The sirloin is well aged, with a deep flavor and a smooth texture that melts in your mouth. Special salt removes the greasiness of beef and gives a clean finish.

The staff recommended eating the tenderloin rare because it doesn't have a lot of fat, so it's easier to eat when it's soft.

This time, I tried anchovies, wasabi, and baek kimchi together. The meat was not very greasy, so it was light and soft, and not tough at all. Baek Kimchi has a crunchy and clean taste that would go very well with fatty meat cuts.

Next, we grilled the shrimp. Shrimp is a fatty part, so it was grilled at a medium well done.

The heat of the charcoal was so good that the meat cooked quickly. Perfectly grilled, do you see the juicy shine? Showing off a perfect visual.

Definitely, the shrimp meat was very tender, perhaps because it is so oily. Because of the greasiness, it may feel heavy, so I tried eating it with parsley, and the combination was really good. White kimchi, it would go very well with wasabi.

Finally, the staff grilled the beef skirt and brisket for us. Beef is very important to grill, and this time it was also grilled with the best grilling. Really felt like a different level of expertise.

Chicken skin has a chewy texture and is savory and full of juice. There seems to be a texture compared to other meats because there is a tendon in the middle of the brisket.

After eating all the meat, you should fill your stomach with rice, right? This is a menu item included in the luxury set, called Hanwoo Doenjangbap.

Large chunks of Hanwoo beef, tofu, pumpkin, and various other fillings are included. Rich and deep soybean paste flavor without being salty. When you finish eating, your stomach becomes warm and satisfied. The meat inside the soybean paste rice is also very tender and delicious.

Yukhoe Bibimbap

Delicious Yukhoe piled high on top of tasty white rice with plenty of vegetables and condiments.

All the ingredients were mixed well together. There were more yukhoe than I thought, and the yukhoe bibimbap with a spicy seasoning that everyone can enjoy was really delicious. When eaten with Korean beef, it seems to enhance the taste even more.

Yukhoe Naengmyeon (Bibim)

Yukhoe cold noodles also contain a generous amount of yukhoe along with various side ingredients such as mu saengchae, egg yolk, etc.

The tangy and sweet sauce paired well with the generous ingredients, creating a diverse and impressive flavor. Cool broth goes well with the greasiness of the meat, making it great to eat with grilled meat!
