Our Visit

Today, we've visited Namsan Sirloin, located in Myeongdong, a restaurant that specializes in Hanwoo (Korean beef).

Namsan Sirloin spans three floors, offering a spacious interior. A major plus is the well-spaced tables on each floor, ensuring a noise-free dining experience!

As a sirloin specialist, Namsan Sirloin mainly offers sirloin meat, but you can also find options like beef tartare bibimbap and beef brisket soup!

We've decided to enjoy Korean beef sirloin with a highball set, beef tartare, beef tartare bibimbap, and steamed eggs. The meal comes with lots of side dishes, such as pickled radish, sliced green onions, gochujang sauce, salt, garlic, and more!

Their homemade pickled radish is truly delicious!

If you order meat, you can also get blood soup, which is great for relieving hangovers the next day! The broth made from beef bones is definitely rich and savory.

The marbling on the 360-hour-rested Hanwoo 1++ sirloin truly looks like a work of art!

If you make a reservation through Creatrip, you can also get a free highball that pairs well with the meat! You can choose between Namsan Highball with camellia tea base or Pear Highball with sweet pear tea.

The steamed egg is so soft, and the fluffy texture is a perfect appetizer!

The Korean beef tartare is fresh and flavorful. The beef tartare bibimbap also offers a delicious mix of the meat's nuttiness and the freshness of the vegetables!

Now it's time to try out the main dish!

The staff grills the meat for you, making it super convenient. They start grilling once the perfect temperature is reached. The anticipation of the perfectly grilled sirloin is mouthwatering!

They start by grilling the tail part of the beef, using unsaturated fat from near the kidney to grease the grill. Alongside, they also grill garlic, peppers, and mushrooms!

Can you see the juices flowing from the perfectly grilled beef? 

They usually move the perfectly grilled sirloin to the side of the grill to prevent it from cooking further. You can grill it more to your liking if you prefer.

The chef recommended trying the first bite of the meat dipped in salt. Dipping it lightly in salt really brought out the deep flavor of the Hanwoo.

Next, they grill the chunky flap tail, which literally melts in your mouth.

This time, we've paired it with their homemade radish kimchi. The cool and clean taste of the radish kimchi seemed to pair well with the beef. We also recommend pairing it with the green onion salad for the best combination!

They also grill the cabbage, which is crispy, sweet, and pairs well with the meat.

The chef recommended eating the grilled cabbage with gochujang (red chili paste) sauce, which turned out to be a unique taste. The chef's explanations and tips on the menu and how to enjoy the food makes the dining experience even more enjoyable!

Now that we've finished the meat, it's time to enjoy some delicious side dishes!

We've wrapped up with some delicious kimchi fried rice, which is Koreans favorite way to finish a meal! The chef mixed in chopped kimchi and sauce, then fried it all up with rice.

We recommend finishing it off by creating crispy rice at the bottom and topping it with sliced lefover meat for more flavor!

For dessert, they also serve ice cream, which is a perfect way to wrap up your meal! If you want to try authentic Hanwoo during your trip, we highly recommend Namsan Sirloin in Myeongdong!
