Our Visit

We made a visit to Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Station branch to get the viral 15 Step K-Perm. It's located less than a minute's walk from Cheongdam Station, so it's very convenient and easy to get to!

The salon has a cozy white-and-wood-tone interior, with spacious mirrors at every seat. The ample lighting makes it perfect for capturing great photos!

The Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam branch uses authentic Japanese Takara shampoo and a head spa device called Yume Bath, which ensures a thorough cleanse of scalp impurities. Check out their TikTok (@parkjunbeautylab) and Instagram (@parkjun2342) pages for more!

Upon arrival, simply show your reservation details to the staff, and they will guide you to the lockers where you can store your belongings. To lock the locker, set a four-digit code and press the "#" button. 

The staff will help you put on a gown and then offer you a choice of a free drink! You can choose from a selection of coffee and tea. It comes in this cute little cup!

What's special about the Cheongdam location of Park Jun Beauty Lab is that the consultation for the 15 Step K-Perm is in a private room, with high-tech devices to help with consultation.

The stylist started with a close-up inspection of my scalp, which was quite dry! This inspection also helps the stylist determine what types of products to use during the head spa treatment. 

They also have a camera attached to the device to take your photo with so that you can virtually try on different hairstyles! It was my first time trying something like this so it was really cool and fun!

I was even able to try on hair pieces to compare different styles! From the consultation itself, I could tell Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam puts a lot of dedication into their services. I was so excited to get started with the procedure!

The head spa scalp treatment starts out with scalp scaling. The stylist expertly sectioned my hair, thoroughly addressing any itchy spots on my scalp.

This machine has different types of shampoo and massage devices and was used in the first portion of the head spa treatment.

After scalp scaling, the stylist used a special scalp shampoo to gently clean my scalp and the roots of my hair, then did various scalp massages. It was so refreshing!

Afterwards, I was guided to this private head spa room to get the shampoo washed out. During the treatment, steam is applied to the hair to enhance the effectiveness of the products, making the scalp softer to better absorb nutrients from the products.

The next step is the famous Yume Bath! Yume Bath gently removes impurities from the scalp, providing a relaxing experience while effectively cleansing the scalp!

Before applying the perm solution, a quick haircut is provided, and the cost is included in the price!

My hair is a bit dry and damaged from dyeing it and using heat tools, so the stylist added a protein treatment spray before starting the perm! It also helps break down the hair structure for optimal perm results.

The perm solution is then applied and left on for a bout 10-15 minutes under this heating device to enhance the effect. 

After 10 minutes, they check if the perm solution has absorbed well. Once it's ready, it's time to rinse it out!

After washing out the solution, my hair was briefly dried. They provided me with this plastic guard to protect my face from any discomfort while drying!

After rinsing, they begin with the root perm, which usually lasts about 2 months. The stylist was very meticulous with this and even used devices with different barrel sizes for different areas of my hair to fit my face shape.

Look at the volume it adds! Once it's washed and dried out, it adds a very natural but noticeable touch of volume.

Afterwards, I was guided to a table for the digital perm for the rest of my hair! 

After rolling up all the hair, each piece is connected to this machine to apply heat. I didn't feel it at all, but if you ever feel that the heat is too intense during this process, please notify a staff member immediately! After about 10-15 minutes, the device automatically shuts off and a built-in fan on the device is activated to cool down the heat.

The stylist then releases a section to check if the perm has set well. If everything looks good, they proceed to release all the sections! It looks a little silly here, but the curls will calm down a lot once it's washed and dried!

Next, they roll up another set of hair rollers to let it set a bit more. Since I've been sitting around for a few hours, I was given a massage at this point of the procedure! This was super relaxing because I was given a choice of essential oil to choose from, then given a neck and shoulder massage with hot device.

Afterwards, it's time to wash my hair and finish the final portion of the head spa treatment in this private room. This room was different from the first, as it had a full-body massage chair! It's difficult not to fall asleep here!

Afterwards, I was shown my scalp and it was so much cleaner than before! I felt so refreshed and clean.

Then, I returned to my seat for one last scalp treatment and hair drying. I could already see the curls forming just by drying my hair, and was so excited to see the results!

After about 4 hours, the 15-step K-Perm is complete!
