Gwanggyo Lake Park Freiburg Observatory

The Freiburg Observatory offers a panoramic view of Suwon Gwanggyo Lake Park and is modeled after the iconic symbol of Freiburg, Germany, a globally renowned eco-city. Suwon City and Freiburg City established a sister city relationship in 2015, and the observatory was built in 2019 to express Suwon City's commitment to becoming an eco-friendly city and to further enhance the significance of the sister city agreement.

As you slowly descend the staircase of the observatory made of wood, a different world unfolds on each floor. The sight of a park unfolding with a lake touching the blue autumn sky and colorful autumn leaves can be felt as you walk.
Janggeum's Workshop

Janggeum's workshop is a Hanbok rental shop located in Hwaseong Haenggung. At this small workshop, there are a variety of Hanboks with over 300 different styles.

You'll be able to rent a Hanbok from Janggeum's Workshop and visit places like Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, and Hwaseo Park to fully experience autumn. Take beautiful photos to capture the moment!
Suwon Hwaseong & Hwaseong Haenggung

Suwon Hwaseong is a fortress registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are various performances that happen regularly throughout the year and during the fall, the annual Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is held.

Suwon Hwaseong is a fortress with both military defense functions and commercial functions, and the facility's features are scientific, rational, and practical in structure. At Suwon Hwaseong, you can also rent costumes and it is a great place for a walk, so when the weather is good, many Koreans visit here.

Suwon Hwaseong is connected by four gate towers: the eastern Changnyongmun, the western Hwaseomun, the southern Paldalmun, and the northern Janganmun. It has been designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site due to its exceptional architectural skills.

Additionally, it is also recognized as the first case of new city development in South Korea. Through experiencing traditional archery in Hwaseong, the striking of the bell at the peak of Mt. Palgongsan, and various cultural experiences at the royal palace, we provide opportunities to fully appreciate Korean cultural heritage. In particular, when autumn comes, the colors of autumn leaves and Hanbok blend together to create a more beautiful scene.
