We are sure that when everyone comes to study in Korea and experience Korea's campus life, you must also be curious about Korean school meals, right?
Yonsei University has several student cafeterias, some located in the student union building and others scattered in other department buildings.
Today, we are going to introduce the main three student cafeterias in Yeonsei University.
Route:
The Student Union is located directly across from the library. It can be reached by walking straight on Baeyang Road from the main entrance of Yonsei University for about 7-8 minutes.
There are three student cafeterias inside, namely 맛나샘 on the first floor (technically the basement), 고를샘 on the second floor, and 부를샘.
맛나샘 (Matnasam)
Location: Yonsei University Student Union Building B1
Business hours: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Break time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
You can check the menu for today on the bulletin board or in the app in advance
Basically, the dishes will be different every day.
Matnasam mainly sells Korean style, some sell ramen, tteokbokki and oolong noodles.
Select your desired meal and you can proceed to the self-ordering machine.
After ordering, take the number card to the counter to get the meal.
We ordered meal number 3 and followed the instructions to collect our meal at Hotbowl.
Small dishes and cutlery are both self-service.
We ordered a Japanese-style Pork cutlet kimchi nabe (₩5200).
Personally, we think that the meat of the pork cutlet is not dry at all, very tender.
And the soup base made from kimchi, onions, and egg is quite appetizing.
SWEETS
Business hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Resting period: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
There is also a place selling coffee and beverages called 'SWEETS' next to Matnasam.
The price is also much cheaper than outside cafes, with the cheapest iced Americano costing only 1500 Korean won!
After ordering, go directly to the pick-up area on the right to collect your meal.
Especially recommended their waffle and ice cream, which is a certification recognized by Yonsei students!
We ordered a serving of waffle, and it's very thoughtful that they can help you split it in half.
In addition, the ice cream is generously given, and the milk flavor is very rich.
The most delicious dessert after a meal, recommended to all of you who crave for dessert after finishing a proper meal:)
On the left side of the entrance, go up to the first floor and there are two other school cafeterias, one is called 'Bureusam' and the other is called 'Goreulsam'.
고를샘 (Bulleulsaem)
Location: Yonsei University Student Union Building 1st floor
There is a restaurant called 'Bulsaem' that sells both Chinese-style (jajangmyeon, tangsuyook, etc.) and Western-style (fried pork cutlet, Omelet Rice, etc.) dishes.
This day, Bulleulsaem happened to be on a day off, so we went to the Goreulsaem on the opposite side.
부를샘 (Goreulsaem)
Location: Yonsei University Student Union, 1st floor
Business hours: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Break time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
Goreul Sam mainly sells Western-style food, including pasta, gratin, risotto, and pizza.
The average price ranges from ₩6500 to ₩7200.
If there are a lot of people, the waiting time may be longer.
We ordered Clam Olive Oil Spaghetti (₩6500)
Personally, the portion of noodles is quite a lot, and a lot of clams, but the overall taste is light.
But we don't think we can demand too much because this amount is almost half the price of the restaurant outside.
In general, Yonsei University's cafeteria offers a wide variety of choices. Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Western-style dishes are available on the menu, which is diverse and constantly changing. 😌👍🏻
