Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Moi Hair & Makeup, a fantastic place to receive top-notch makeup consulting services. Conveniently located just 30 seconds away from Hongik University Entrance Station Exit 3, Moi Hair & Makeup is incredibly accessible and easy to find. The agency boasts a team of highly experienced hair and makeup artists, all of whom have worked extensively with numerous celebrities. So, if you've been captivated by the allure of Korean-style makeup while watching your favorite Korean stars, learning makeup techniques from the experts who beautify celebrities could be highly beneficial!
The interior of the store at Moi Hair & Makeup is beautifully decorated with an overall white tone, creating a clean and simple ambiance. As you walk in, your eyes are immediately drawn to the assortment of various cosmetics neatly displayed on the dressing table.
Various brands of hair straighteners are displayed inside the store. I would love to receive makeup consulting, but I also want to try a hair styling that suits me!
When you go inside the store, there are about four dressing tables, and each table is filled with cosmetics.
From eyeshadow to concealer, blush, eyeliner, mascara, lip products, and more, you can see all kinds of cosmetics. Just by looking, time flies! We are planning to receive 1:2 makeup consulting with the team today. So let's see how it works, shall we?
At first, I sat and waited while the artist prepared. When you come after preparation, please remove your makeup first.
Let's start by moisturizing your skin with cream. The director emphasized the importance of laying a solid makeup foundation instead of using multiple layers of foundation or cushion, ensuring that the makeup stays intact throughout the day.
Additionally, please take a moment to groom and comb your eyebrows, ensuring they look tidy and well-kept.
During the lecture, numerous theoretical and fundamental aspects were explained, prompting me to diligently take notes in my notebook. Once the consulting session concluded, it was fascinating to observe how many people managed to fill their pages with copious amounts of writing!
Now, let's proceed with the application of foundation, and she'll guide you on the appropriate frequency for your individual skin tone and type. She also emphasized that it's preferable to start with foundation application rather than relying solely on cushion for touch-ups.
Now it's time to mattify my face with powder. Powder is said to be better when tapped lightly with a brush rather than applied with a puff. It was impossible not to take notes because you shared so many small but useful and important makeup tips!
Wonkyung's attention to detail and thoroughness make it easy for even those who don't know much about makeup to understand. And it was so fascinating to see how each individual's characteristics and makeup techniques were caught right away! Even just listening from the side without receiving consulting oneself can be very helpful.
Before applying eyeshadow, please let me know which color you used. When you try doing makeup by yourself later, please make sure to write down the steps so that you don't forget. And the way to use the curler, when I tried it as you told me, I only did it a few times and my eyelashes went up right away!
The makeup artist also recommended different products depending on how to draw the eyeliner and the skin type.
Next is the irresistible aegyo-sal! Even the slight shadow underneath the aegyo-sal, the editor only just found out about it this time.
Once the first half of the face makeup was completed, we moved on to the next steps: mascara, contouring, and highlighter. When I saw the Before & After comparison with just half of the makeup done, it was truly a moment that reignited my appreciation for the transformative power of makeup!
The director reiterated the proper usage of each brush for specific areas. Now, it's my turn to take charge and do my makeup independently!
It was time for my friend to get her makeup consultation!
The director told her that it's best to mix the lightest shade (#21) and medium shade (#23) because her skin tone is neither too bright nor too tan.
The director also teaches you how to properly use different makeup tools, like an eyelash curler, to enhance your facial features.
She recommends what shapes fit your face and so much more! It was such an eye opening experience!
Make sure to take notes! You might become overwhelmed with all this new information so make sure to ask for pauses in between so you can take down notes and use them in the future.
They also tell you what products and tools they used, in case you want to purchase them yourself!
Since it's 2 people in one class, the first person that gets their make up down will get their corrections first.
When a professional does your makeup, they truly bring out each individual's charm and beauty. Before this, I often skipped certain makeup steps like aegyosal (eye smile lines) or highlighting when doing my makeup alone. But with this opportunity, I could learn and master all of those techniques, which I really enjoyed.

That's why I believe there is value in receiving makeup consulting. Just like how knowing your personal color analysis helps you throughout your life, learning makeup consulting once allows you to use that knowledge for a lifetime.
