Our Visit
Today, I visited the knitting studio Yaniyarn where you can create your own giant yarn bag. At Yaniyarn, people from all around the world visit every day to create their unique giant yarn bags. Today, our editor also came to create their own customized bag.
Various designs of bags are displayed on the central table and on chairs at the ends. From small bags to medium-sized ones, and even large bags, there's a wide range of options. The colors vary too, with shades of purple, green, pink, and white, creating a charming and whimsical atmosphere.
On the opposite side of the table, there is a display of giant yarn threads organized by colors.
You can choose the color you want to create based on the colors of the threads available in the store.
In the beginning, a brief explanation about the Giant Yarn technique is provided. When choosing a bag design, it's nice to select a size that you can carry around comfortably in a daily basis. Considering that, our editor chose a slightly larger size for their bag. Keep in mind that the time required for each size might vary, so please take that into consideration when making your choice!
Once you've chosen the color and design, your preparations are complete. The instructor then provided a new ball of yarn weighing 1kg.
The staff provides a step-by-step explanation for tasks such as "creating the floor" and "building the walls."
Detailed and clear explanations made it easy to understand, and I had a lot of fun throughout the process of creating it.
If you encounter any obstacles along the way, feel free to ask anytime. As for the editor, I had dropped the yarn I had previously made, so I kept asking the teacher how to proceed.
The companions who went together finished quickly by making theirs small, but the editor took a bit more time by crafting a larger bag. Once the final line is reached, flip the crafted bag inside out. That way, you'll see the familiar shape of the giant bag, just like you've often seen. While making it, I kept thinking, "Is this really going to turn into a bag?" and "This doesn't seem like the right shape." However, when I flipped it, all doubts vanished!
The finishing touches are done together with the teacher, and I must say, even the process of finishing was really enjoyable. For a more detailed understanding, try experiencing it firsthand while crafting!
Finally, the finishing touch of threading the strap inside was done by the teacher.
Finally, giant yarn bag is complete! The editor even received compliments for crafting it quite evenly and consistently, even though it was her first attempt. Placing the sky-blue bag amidst the purple book and the yellow box is making the decoration even more vibrant.
