Consultation Guidelines

• Please go up to the 11th floor for registration after your visit.
• There may be a waiting time if there are many patients visiting.
• A 1:1 interpreter will be assigned based on the nationality you entered when making the reservation.
• Before the consultation, various visual tests will be conducted, so please remove your contact lenses before visiting.

Precautions before surgery

• Please discontinue the use of soft lenses for 5 days, hard and astigmatism lenses for 10 days, and Dream lenses for more than 2 weeks.
• Avoid excessive drinking the day before the surgery and try to get as much rest as possible.
• We recommend not using facial massages or eye creams.
• After the surgery, please review the precautions and adjust your schedule for work, school, travel, etc. (LASEK only)
• Showering, bathing, and washing your face may not be possible for several days after the surgery, so it is best to prepare in advance. (LASEK only)

Preparation for Surgery Day

• Avoid using eye makeup and perfume on the day of surgery.

Our Visit

Today, I visited Healing Eye, located in Gangnam, which is a highly accredited Korean LASIK and LASIK surgery ophthalmology clinic. Healing Eye is located less than a minute's walk from exit 5 of Shin-Nonhyeon Station, so it is really accessible.

Healing Eye is led by Director Kim Sun-young, an ophthalmologist who constantly explores and researches to advance existing theories. Experienced and skilled directors also reside here. In particular, Representative Director Kim Sun-young has a brilliant career, including receiving a commendation from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for epidemiological investigation, being a regular member of the Korean Ophthalmological Society, winning the 108th Korean Ophthalmological Society research award, and even being a regular member of the European Cataract and Refractive Surgery Society. She always recommends the optimal surgery to patients through sincere 1:1 counseling and treatment.

Additionally, they upload A to Z content about eyes on their blog and YouTube to assist the general public in acquiring correct knowledge. The director, who has rich experience and diverse surgical experience, seems to be trustworthy if you receive surgery from him!

Now, let me introduce the inside of the hospital and the experience machines!

When you come up on the elevator, you will see the entrance to the 11th floor where you can receive basic inspection and consultation with the director. There is a California legislative license displayed on the left side of the entrance.

As I entered the entrance, I saw a lot of waiting patients. Since we have a lot of patients normally, you will have to wait even if you reserve beforehand. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for basic examination and consultation with the director.

As soon as you enter, you can see the reception desk. 

First, come to the 11th floor reception desk and show the voucher to the staff. If you have your alien registration card and a Korean phone number, you can register using the pad at the reception desk.

If you're here for a simple trip and don't have everything, please fill out the questionnaire according to your nationality. The paper ballot can be checked by sitting down and marking the corresponding item.

And if you book through Creatrip, the hospital will provide a 1:1 interpreter, so if you have any questions, you can ask the interpreter.

Once you've finished filling out the questionnaire, you just need to wait for the basic examination, which may take a while, but a comfortable sofa is available.

From filling out the medical form to basic examination, and all the way through consultation and treatment, an interpreter will be provided so there's no need to worry if you don't speak Korean!

For the basic examination, we use a total of 8 devices to conduct tests including confirmation of nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, pupil size confirmation, intraocular pressure measurement, and overall retinal imaging.

And finally, adjust the glasses lenses according to your vision like when fitting glasses. Shall we go get treated now?

The director's office is located right across from the reception desk and medical treatment is conducted here. I like that it's made of one-way glass, so I can see when the patient's examination will be finished.

Please enter the director's office and have additional tests done by the director. Based on the test results received earlier, please receive medical treatment and counseling. If surgery is to be performed, please also explain the details of the surgery.

If surgery is necessary, please consult with the director and the coordinator teacher after the treatment for guidance on surgery-related precautions and scheduling. LASIK and LASEK surgeries have short operation times, so it is possible to have the surgery on the same day.

Additionally, there is a mini hair-wash area next to the director's office. It is a space specially designed for patients who have undergone surgery. When you have surgery, you shouldn't get water in your eyes, so we provide a service to wash your hair when you come in for your appointment the day after surgery.

This is the place where you receive the healing eye clinic. There are four chairs neatly arranged, and on the right side of the chairs there is a device for eye steaming.

First, sit in the chair under the guidance of the teacher. For a comfortable rest, they also provide a neck pillow :)
