Our Visit

'Downtowner' has been popping up on our Instagram feeds for quite a while now, so we decided to visit the location in Anguk to see what the hype was all about. Downtowner Anguk is located near plenty of popular Seoul attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong, etc. so you'll definitely find it easy to stop by.

The restaurant itself is a hanok that has been regenerated into a modern restaurant. The mixture of modern branding with the layout and interior of a traditional Hanok is a common theme around this neighborhood.

When you walk into the restaurant, you'll see seats along the walls on your side. At the very end of the room is the counter, where you place your order. Before we place our order, let's check out the menu.

There are a total of 9 types of burgers, all made fresh in-house. We got recommended the three most popular items on the menu, which were the Bacon Cheese, Avocado, and Shrimp burgers. We also decided to get some sides and decided on the Garlic Butter Fries and the General Tso Chicken Tenders. Since we got 3 burgers, we got 3 complimentary drinks from the soft drink (out of the 3,000 KRW drinks) menu!

We placed our order and soon after got our meal. We also went over to the condiments cart to grab sauces and pickles. You can also find extra napkins and wet wipes here if needed.

The burgers came with burger sleeves and these little details are the things that make you want to come again. Burgers can be messy to eat, especially when they are hefty like the ones at Downtowner but with the sleeves, it was an easy ride.

Avocado Burger 10,800 KRW

Bacon Cheese Burger 9,300 KRW

Shrimp Burger 11,800 KRW

Garlic Butter Fries 6,800 KRW
General Tso Chicken Tenders 7,800 KRW

All three burgers were delicious and the sides we ordered helped finesse the meal. The patties were delicious and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp burger patty was plump and had real bits of shrimp inside! If you're not a big meat eater, definitely order the Shrimp burger. The Garlic Butter fries and General Tso Chicken Tenders were both pretty sweet, which is a common theme in Korean cuisine, but nothing a drop of hot sauce couldn't fix.

All over the world, it is an unspoken rule to have a soft drink with your burger. With the Creatrip coupon, you can get a free soft drink(3,000 KRW) for each burger you order. Don't worry if you're cautious about your sugar intake! Downtowner has no-sugar soft drink options as well.

At the end of our meal, we were left energized for our next adventure! Stop by Downtowner Anguk for a quick meal of premium burgers and don't forget to use your Creatrip coupon for a free soft drink!

How to Get There

Start at Anguk Station Exit 2. Walk out of the station and walk straight for approximately 15 meters.

Turn left into the alley on the left of Cafe Knotted Anguk.

Walk another 10 meters into the alley and you'll see the entrance.
