Gyeongsangdo is located in the mid-southern region of the Korean peninsula. On this tour, you'll be able to tour this region of the country and visit some of the most significant heritages in Korea! You can choose to visit either Daegu and Andong or Daegu and Gyeongju. The Andong Tour is based on the late Queen Elizabeth the Second's visit to Andong in 1999 and the Gyeongju Tour will be visiting sites that have a 1000-year history! These tours have a specific concept as the Andong Tour consists of sites visited by the late Queen Elizabeth the Second during her visit to Andong in 1999 and the Gyeongju Tour will travel to the heritage sites of the Shilla Dynasty.

You can choose to visit either Daegu and Andong or Daegu and Gyeongju for a 2-day itinerary. 

Visit sites that have immense significance to Korean history and learn about the traditions and history based on these locations!

Things to Keep In Mind

This tour is a 2-day tour that will either visit Daegu and Andong or Daegu and Gyeongju. 

When making your reservation, please input which Daegu subway station or hotel you would like to be picked up. The tour will depart from that location.

This tour follows the Special Terms and Conditions for Domestic Travel. You can get a refund if you cancel 11 days before your booked date but will follow the refund policy accordingly after that. 

Please reserve 1 week before your desired date.

If there are fewer than 4 tour participants, the transportation vehicle will be a 5-passenger van. 

You will be staying in a double room at the Noblestay Hotel(or a similar hotel) in Daegu.

Included in the price are admission tickets, lunch(Korean, fried chicken), snacks(water and snacks), dinner(Korean), transportation, and a guide.

Not included in the price are travel insurance, and other personal expenses. 

If the tourist attraction has a free translator, one will be provided. 

The itinerary can be changed as desired but participants will need to confirm with the driver.

1st Day

Option 1. Andong Queen Elizabeth II Tour

Bongjeongsa 봉정사

Bongjeongsa Temple was built by one of Uisang's students Nuengin. The temple is named as it is because it looks like the temple is home to a phoenix. Geungnakjeon Hall of Bongjeongsa Temple is the oldest wooden building in Korea and has historical significance. It is said that Queen Elizabeth II visited in person in April 1999.

Buyongdae 부용대

Buyongdae is part of one of Korea's major mountain ranges, the Taebaek Mountains. The cliff is 64 meters high and surrounds Hahoe Village. Visit this view in person and see the cliff with your own eyes! 

Hahoe Village 하회마을

Hahoe Village is a village that was home to the infamous Poongsan Ryu's. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has significant meaning to Korean history. This village is often visited, even by Koreans, and even by Queen Elizabeth II.

Option 2. 1000-year-old History Gyeongju Tour

Gyeongju was Korea's capital in the Shilla Dynasty. The city is still preserved with heritage sites at are more than 1000 years old and has several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 

Seokguram 석굴암

Seokguram is part of the Bulguksa Temple and was established in 751 when the Shilla Dynasty was ruled under Queen Gyeongdeok. The structure is made up of an unprecedented architectural technique of cleverly constructing the ceiling of a circular column of 360 large stones. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its outstanding architectural techniques and aesthetic beauty.

Bulguksa 불국사

Bulguksa Temple is a tourist attraction that Gyeongju is most famous for. Bulguksa Temple was also founded in 528 during the Shilla Dynasty by Yeongje, the mother of King Beopheung. It was rebuilt by Kim Dae-sung in 751, and towers and stone bridges were added. The temple of Bulguksa Temple, the additional towers, and the beautiful stone bridge was highly regarded and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

National Museum of Gyeongju 국립경주박물

The National Museum of Gyeongju is where you can see all of Gyeongju's 1000-year-old history in one look. They exhibit artifacts found in Gyeongju and Gyeongsang Province, like the gold crown in the picture above that showcase Gyeongju's bright history. 

Cheomseongdae 첨성대

Cheomseongdae is registered as Korea's 31st National Treasure and was built when Queen Seondeok was under rule from 632 to 647. The astronomical observatory was built with 362 30 cm bricks to observe the celestial movements for a year. The Cheomseongdae is Gyeongju's most iconic symbol and is visited by Koreans and tourists all year round.

2nd Day - Daegu

Donghwasa Temple 동화사

Donghwasa Temple was established in 832 in the Samguk Period when King Heungduk was under rule during the Shilla Dynasty. At Donghwasa temple, you can practice 'Complete Rest' with forest meditation, rest, reading, prayer, and taking walks around the temple. With these activities, you will surely get to de-stress from everyday life and find balance in your mind. 

Palgongsan Mountain Cable Car 팔공산 케이블카

It is said that 700 meters above sea level are when people feel the freshest air. The Palgongsan Mountain Cable Car is located 800 meters above sea level and is surrounded by lush pine trees so you can breathe in as much phytoncide as you want.

Seomun Market has been around since the Joseon Dynasty and is still used by Daegu citizens to get their daily groceries. The market has withstood the Japanese Imperial Invasion and the Korean War. This is a market that is definitely worth the visit!
