Imjingak is the area in which you can visit and see the North and South Korean border for your own eyes. The DMZ, which is short for Demilitarized Zone, is popular among foreign tourists as they want to catch a glimpse of the controversial North and South Korean political relationship in person. When visiting the area, tourists are asked to be well-mannered and even refrain from wearing clothes that are too flashy or showing. Did you know that there is a gondola that you can ride and see above the border into North Korea? On this tour, you can whether you want to ride the gondola and also explore around DMZ!

Preview

The DMZ, which stands for Demilitarized Zone, is the area that symbolizes North and South Korean relations.

As it is right by the North and South Korea border, there are scenes that can only be experienced at the DMZ. For example, because the area is subject to attacks from the North, real South Korean soldiers are stationed there. They stay so still, they almost look like mannequins.

People that choose the gondola-included option will board the Imjingak Peace Gondola and will ride between Observatory 1 and 2. The gondola ride is a total of 850 meters and can board 10 passengers. You will be able to see Jangdanbando, Bukhan Mountain, Freedom Bridge, Dokgae Bridge, and scenic views of the Imjingak.

Across Imjingak are observatories and binoculars where you can look into North Korea. There are instances where you can spot the people of North Korea through binoculars. What do you think North Korea looks like? Book a tour to find out!
