Yeongju, a city located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, has recently begun to attract more visitors as more people have been traveling down to the southern provinces of Korea. A city that is calmingly quiet that there is a village where scholars studied enlightenment. The area is also famous for their unique experience classes run by local merchants. Our Visit
Day 1 (Makgeolli Brewing Class - Sosusowon/Seonbi Village - Buseoksa)
Makgeolli is a traditional Korean liquor made with mostly rice as the main ingredient. Koreans love rice, so not only do they eat it, but they also make alcohol with it.
Sosuseowon is the first private university in Korea. You can see what a university looked like in the Joseon Dynasty, which is in a traditional hanok.
Near Sosuseowon is the Seonbi Village, where scholars lived in the past. Relive the lives of the wise scholars exploring this neighborhood.
Buseoksa Temple has a combination of beautiful nature and wooden architecture. It is a place where the scenery of bright red autumn leaves and luscious summer greenery is engulfed in peace. This temple is mentioned in Korean history classes because of its unique and beautiful architectural style!
Day 2 (Punggi Ginseng Liquor & Floral Cordial + ATV Mountain Bike)
The Punggi Ginseng Liquor class and Floral Tea class are held in the same place. Floral tea is made after picking your own edible flowers directly from the garden and washing them clean!
We've tried tea made with fruit before, but floral tea is unfamiliar territory. The scent of the flowers is aromatic.

After the class, you get a taste of your creation. I've never seen a cup of tea with such beautiful colors!
The last place we visited is the ATV Experience Center in Mungyeong, located near Yeongju! You can enjoy the scenery and feel the adrenaline of the rocky road on the ATV, doesn't that sound exciting? Getting rid of all your stress on the ATV is the perfect way to end a trip!
