You have probably heard Han River, which is one of the major bodies of water in Seoul. The river runs down the middle of Seoul and divides Seoul in half. There are many different parks across the river where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the river and nature. All of them vary a little in characteristics, some are better for picnics, some have more festivals. Out of these parks, Ttukseom Han River Park is a young and vibrant park popular amongst young individuals looking to have a relaxing evening.

Gwangjin-gu is a district in Seoul, known for being where Konkuk Univeristy if located. It is also known as being the home of two large parks: Ttukseom Han River Park and Children's Grand Park. 

As soon as you get out of the station, there is a plaza, and many people enjoy their time and relax while looking over at the Han River.

Park Facilities 

Ttukseom Outlook Cultural Complex 

Location: Connected to Exit 3 of Ttukseom Park Station 

Hours: Tues-Sun: 10:00-21:00, Closed Monday 

The hornworm-shaped design at this complex is a symbol of Ttukseom Han River Park, and it was the first thing you see when you get out of the station. It is connected to the station around Exit 3 as well! 

This complex is a facility that consists of 3 floors that have cafes, a library, workspace, and conference rooms. There are also many exhibitions related to the Han River ad events that are also held in the complex. 

There are many people that like to come here and study in the work space in front of the Han River and tourists like to come here to learn more about the history of the Han River. 

Hangang Arirang (한강 아리랑) 

Location: Go straight from Exit 2 of Ttukseom Amusment Park Station and walk along the walking path for around 7 minutes. 

Hours: Vaires 

There is a boat that is at the park that is called Hangang Arirang floating in the Han River that has restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and water sports. This is also a fun area to look around in, it's fun to go shopping and enjoy coffee on a boat!! 

Delivery Zone

If you have ever been to Han River Park, you might be aware with the delivery zones that are in many parks across Korea. In these areas you will find many workers handing out leaflets and pamphlets that have menus to different restaurants that can deliver to the park. When you order delivery, you can order to this area and pick it up here.

Location: Around 10 minutes from Exit 2 of Ttukseom Park Station

Location: Immediately on the left of Exit 2 of Ttukseon Park Station

Convenience Store 

Although delivery is probably the most standard way to get a meal at the park for Koreans, for tourists that do not want to go through the hassle of ordering delivery, there are convenience stores to enjoy a meal or snacks at. There are 3 GS25 stores in Ttukseom Han River Park, as well as a 7-Eleven in Hangan Arirang on the Han River where you can get snacks and food at! 

There is also a BHC chicken in the same building that the GS25 is located in, so you can get chicken take out as well.

Location: 10 minute walk from Ttukseom Park Station

Location: Adjacent from Exit 3 of Ttukseom Park Station

Location: 5 minute walk from Exit 3 of Ttukseom Park Station 

7/11 Ttukseom Arirang Store 

Location: Inside Hangang Arirang 

One thing that you must do when you are at any park on the Han River is to eat instant noodles! 

The price of ramen is around 3,500 KRW and is a perfect little snack or light meal to enjoy at the river! 

Every convenience store has a ramen cooker like above, and when you buy a ramen bag at the convenience stores in the parks along Han River you will also get a little plate and chopsticks so that you can enjoy it right away. You can use these ramen cookers by pressing the button that correlated to the type of ramen you purchased. The machine will know the exact amount of water to dispense and will cook your ramen for the correct amount of time. 

When it is finished, mix it well and your ramen will be ready to eat! 

Keep in mind that out of all the convenience stores around Ttukseom park, the 7/11 is the only one that has a table and chairs that you can eat at! 

Bathroom 

Bathrooms are also available at the park. They look like the photo above and are installed all throughout the park. There should be one at least within a 10 minute walk of each other! 


Activities 

Duck Boat 

Boarding Location: Inside Han River Arirang 

Hours: 10:00-24:00 

When you look at the Han River from the park, you will often see people enjoying water sports. The water activities that are available in each Han River park tend to vary a little, but the Duck Boat is one of the classic ones! 

There is a ticket office in Hangang Arirang, so if you tell the staff the number of people in your party, they will issue a ticket accordingly. The boat can accommodate up to 3 people together.

During our visit, only the choice we had was the automatic boat. This one is much easier to navigate as all you have to do is step on the accelerator in the drivers seat in the front and steer the steering wheel. 

There is a Korean word called Mulmung (물멍) which translates to "zoning out at the water". While we were on the boat, we thought that this was the perfect time to mulmung! The view of Namsan Tower, Lotte Tower and the river all together was such a beautiful view.

In addition to duck boats, you can also get motor boats, kayaks, yacht, to rent out and use at Hangang Arirang. Check out the website to learn more about all the other activities! 

Cycling 

Rental Place: Next to Exit 2 of Ttukseom Amusement Park Station 

Cycling is a cheaper and easier activity than water sports. There are couple bicycles for children and two people as well as bikes for one person. The amount and rental price varies depending on the type.

You need to leave your ID when you use it as a form of a deposit and when you return your bike, you will get your ID returned! 

Tent Rental 

Location: Left and right side of the Ttukseon Amusement Park Station

Hours: April-May, September-October: 09:00-19:00 / June-August: 09:00- 20:00 

There are many rental shops around Han River Park that to rent out tents, so even if you do not have a tent, you can enjoy a little day out camping! These shops also rent out sheets, tables, small items that are needed for camping as well. The prices vary based on different sets and items. 

However, there are only specific areas where you can install your tents. There are tent areas on both the left and right sides of Ttukseom Park. Make sure to install your tent in the proper area! 

There are restrooms and convenience stores nearby, so the area is very convenient. On days where the weather is nice and the sky is clear, you can also see the Lotte Tower in the distance! 

Music Fountain 

Location: Approximately 5 minute walk from Exit 2 of Ttukseom Park Station

As the name suggests, it is a popular area where you can enjoy a water fountain with nice music. The music selection is diverse ranging from K-Pop to Pop music and even trot music! You can learn more about the detailed information here
