Our Visit

The Cafe Cookie is located in Songdo and is a hand-made cookie cafe that prides themselves in using organic wheat, natural flour, domestic milk and cream, and does not use any harmful substances or additives.

The store is large and has bright lighting which works as a  perfect set up for the workshops. The Cafe Cookie also occasionally holds functional lectures and educational training classes related to baking, cookies and creativity training for young children and for those with disabilities. The purpose of these lectures and training classes is to contribute towards a society that is creative and to build a friendly community.

The store also has a play space that children under the age of 12 can use for free so that those that are not participating in the workshop can still be occupied and enjoy themselves.

For those that are not interested in making their own cookies, you can also choose to purchase some delicious cookies from the large selection that The Cafe Cookie has. There are so many different flavors of cookies such as matcha, chocolate chip, mango, sweet pumpkin, cranberry, yam and much more that you may get stumped choosing one!

In addition to being able to purchase individual cookies, The Cafe Cookie also sells gift box set cookies that consist of 12 different cookies for 18,000 won. The colorful cookies are perfect for a gift (maybe even to yourself!) 😁

Wether it's a beautiful handmade cookie or a unique frosted cookie, you can experience them all here at The Cafe Cookie! Frosted cookies are prepared in advance and the only thing that you need to do is to draw on them! It is a perfect and simple way to experience baking.

Children love to make the dinosaurs along with the Christmas and Korean themed cookies! The bright use of colors and fun shapes make it a fun process for young children. They also have a YouTube channel where you can go over the production process and learn in more depth.

On the counter you will be able to see the various certifications that the owner of The Cafe Cookie has received over the past few years. You can see that the owner is someone who truly loves children and is passionate about social education and giving back to the community.

We opted to try the "Handmade Biscuit Experience Set B". There are eight different doughs that have been prepared in varying colors such as green (matcha), purple (purple potato), brown (cocoa), white (wheat), orange (cheese), yellow (sweet pumpkin), and red (beetroot). We also got the necessary baking materials such as the molds, baking paper, pens, chocolate chips and chocolate decorations.

When you are ready, the instructor will come and explain the workshop. The process of the workshop is very simple so even those whose native language is not Korean should be able to participate just fine!

We followed the textbook to create Anpanman. It looks simple but we did struggle a little to make it 😂 . We should stick to writing, instead of baking!

We also attempted to make a Pikachu, and a dragon. If you want to ensure that your cookies come out in the perfect shape, we suggest using the provided molds!

When you are done, you should make sure that you mark your cookies or write down your name on the baking paper so you don't get them mixed up or lose them when they are being baked!

The total time that the workshop took was around 2 hours. We made the cookies for an hour and a half and we used the reaming time to bake!

We were quite impressed with the finished products because of how cute they were! Although they were not perfect, we were still really proud of ourselves and enjoyed making them. The staff boxed up our cookies and packed them for us.

These are a great gift or souvenir to give to your loved ones! Will you be trying it out?
