Woollim Entertainment has officially confirmed the disbandment rumors surrounding their girl group Lovelyz. Seven of the members have decided to part ways with the agency while leader Baby Soul will continue with the agency.

On November 1, Woollim Entertainment released a statement saying, "The exclusive contract between our company and the Lovelyz members is scheduled to expire on November 16, 2021. After a long in-depth discussion and consideration, seven members, Yoo Ji-ae, Seo Ji-soo, Lee Mi-joo, Kei, Jin, Ryu Soo-jung, and Jung Ye-in, have decided to prepare for another start at a new place. Out of the Lovelyz members, Baby Soul renewed her contract based on the long-standing trust she has built with us."

They added "We would like to thank the eight members who have done their best and helped the company shine over the past seven years. We sincerely support the members' new start."

The members expressed their sincerity to the fans through handwritten letters.

Baby Soul said, "I decided to stay with Woollim Entertainment, which has trusted and protected me over the past decade. I sincerely hope you will warmly support not only my choice, but also our members who will make a new start in another place."

Mi-joo, who is currently active on Hangout With Yoo and other variety shows, said, "It hurts to think that many Lovelinus (Lovelyz's fan club) who read this article will be upset and worried," adding, "Lovelyz members are each on a new path, but they are one forever."

Lovelyz debuted in 2014. They received love for releasing songs such as "Candy Jelly Love", "Hi~", "Ah-Choo", "For You", "WoW", "Now, We", and "Twinkle". Since the release of their 7th mini album in September last year, the members have focused on personal activities.
