Today, October 28, actress Lizzy from the group After School was fined after her first trial for causing an accident while driving under the influence.

Judge Yang So-eun of the Seocho Central District Court sentenced Lizzy to a fine of 15 million won (approx. 12,800 USD).

The court stated, "The defendant caused a traffic accident when she was driving while drunk and caused injury to the victim and had a high blood alcohol concentration, so corresponding punishment is needed."

The court did take into consideration that Lizzy is a first-time offender and settled with the victim, whose injuries were not too severe. They believe Lizzy showed her remorse by vowing never to repeat the accident and getting rid of the car after the accident.

Lizzy silently listened to the sentence with her hands together and then left the courtroom.

On May 18 around 10:12 p.m., Lizzy crashed into a taxi while driving under the influence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam.

At the time of the accident, Lizzy's blood alcohol concentration exceeded 0.1%, which is over the level for having your license revoked (0.08%).

Initially, the police only charged Lizzy with drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, but the prosecution also sought additional charges under the Additional Punishment Law on Specific Crimes because the taxi driver was injured enough to need treatment for about two weeks.

In her first trial, Lizzy admitted to the charges, saying, "I'm reflecting on myself and blaming myself even in my dreams," and the prosecution demanded a one-year prison term.after school lizzy
