One Day Travel Itinerary Around Gijang In Busan
Attractions, cafes, and restaurants you must visit in Gijang!
Gijang, located in the north of Busan, is an area with a peaceful atmosphere unlike Haeundae, which is crowded with tourists. Therefore, for those who want to experience a different Busan we recommend visiting Gijang.
Today, we'll introduce restaurants, cafes, and attractions that you can visit while exploring Gijang for a day!
Haeundae Haemul Kalguksu
해운대해물칼국수

270 Haemaji-ro, Jangan-eup, Gijang, Busan

Here, you can have a meal while enjoying the great view of Imrang Beach. Come have lunch here when it opens at 11 am.
Since you're in a coastal area, you have to try kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) with plenty of seafood! Try eating it with chive pancakes (부추전), which goes well with kalguksu.
Seafood Kalguksu 1 Serving (해물손칼국수)
8,000 won
Can you see the large amount of clams and kalguksu? We ordered two servings, but the kalguksu was filled in a large bowl that couldn't be covered even with two hands.
Ddaengcho Chive Pancake (땡초부추전)
11,000 won
Ddaengcho (땡초) means Cheongyang Pepper, which is a spicy pepper. It's a little spicy, but goes really well with the light soup of the kalguksu.
Waveon Coffee
웨이브온커피 카페

286 Haemaji-ro, Jangan-eup, Gijang, Busan

Tip: 4 minute walk from Haeundae Haemul Kalguksu. We recommend visiting for dessert after having kalguksu.
Many customers who eat at Haeundae Haemul Kalguksu visit this cafe to enjoy beautiful views and desserts. Especially on Fridays and weekends, it is so popular that you have to wait in line, and it is a popular local cafe with 3,200 Google reviews.

Ahopsan Forest, which has been carefully cultivated by the Nampyeong Moon family for 400 years, is a dense bamboo forest. This bamboo forest is also the filming location of Korean drama The King: Eternal Monarch.
Ahopsan Forest is a total of 520,000 square meters, and it usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half to look around. When you think of Busan, the beach comes to mind first, but if you visit Gijang, you can enjoy such a variety of natural scenery.
If you walk for about 20 minutes from the entrance, you will arrive at Maengjongjuk Forest, another famous drama filming location.
Here, you'll find the door to the parallel world used in The King: Eternal Monarch. If you're a fan of the drama, you should definitely visit!

Thanks to the unique and wonderful scenery of the bamboo forest, it has been used as a filming location for the Korean dramas The King: Eternal Monarch, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and the movie Kundo. If you want to recharge yourself in the forest or if you are a fan of Korean movies or dramas, why don't you visit too?
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
해동용궁사

Hours: 05:00-Sunset
Admission: Free
Transportation: Take Bus 181 from Haeundae Station Exit 7 on Busan Subway Line 2 for 45 minutes
Tip: We recommend taking a taxi to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple because public transportation from Ahopsan Forest is too complicated. It takes about 30 minutes and costs about 21,200 won.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is one of the few Buddhist temples located on the beach in Korea. It was built in 1376, but was destroyed during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, then restored in 1930.
The scenery of the beach by the temple is wonderful, but be sure to observe the detailed elements of the temple carefully too! You can see the very elaborate and colorful characteristics of Korean temples.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is surrounded by the sea on three sides, so you can see the sun rising and setting from the cliff there.
It is located very close to the sea, but it has never been damaged by natural disasters. Some people say it must be protected because of the sacred energy of the beach here!
