Our Visit
When I heard that this place was listed as wheelchair accessible, I invited my friend along who is wheelchair dependent. It was really nice to know beforehand that it would be convenient for her!
We arrived at Insadong Street in the afternoon around 13:30 on a Sunday and there were a lot of other people enjoying the lovely weather.
It was fun to see some buskers out!
The snack bar has two tables outside with benches and a chair.
The staff were extremely friendly and came out to assist my friend by pulling the chair up for her, though it is also possible to just park a wheelchair at the table.
We decided to order several items and share so we could try multiple things.
Tteokbokki (떡볶이)
3,500 won
Tteokbokki usually has fishcake in it and often has other meats added, but this was a simple rice cake and tteokbokki sauce with some cabbage added.
It was chewy and delicious with a bit of spice that you can definitely feel, but it's not overpowering by any means.
Fried Tofu Kimbap (유부김밥)
3,000 won
This kimbap really hit the spot.
What can I say, it was kimbap. All the flavor was there that you expect in really good kimbap.
Kimbap usually has some kind of meat in it, even the basic traditional one, and egg as well, but this one managed to capture the essence of kimbap without any animal products.
I highly recommend this one!
Fried Dumplings (튀김만두)
6,000 won
Wow, these were really hearty and filling and the spicy sauce they came with added another level of flavor depth.
I usually have steamed mandu, but I do really love some crispy, fried mandu on occasion!
Cold Buckwheat Noodles In Radish Water (매밀국수 물)
6,000 won
My friend wanted to try this dish because she had never had it before and it did not disappoint.
The sourness from the radish water was very refreshing and invigorating.
A staff member came out and cut the noodles and mixed them for us.
The water, which is free, is self serve and is mineral water from Jeju Island.
We really enjoyed our meal and left feeling quite full!
Our meal gave us plenty of energy to enjoy shopping on Insadong Street after, picking up some traditional, handcrafted items and also snacks for later!
How To Get There
From Anguk Station (안국역), come out of exit 6. (Alternatively, for those with mobility impairment, there is an elevator exit close to 6.)Walk straight from the exit until you see the large intersection.
Turn right and go down Insadong Street.
When you see the sign that says "Insadong Maru" (인사동 마루), turn right down the alley.
Walk straight and you will come to the snack bar and tables.
