Our Visit
We arrived at The Masala around 7:00 PM on a Thursday and it was not too busy at this hour, though there were some other patrons already there.

The interior decor pays hommage to India, with elephant statues and Hindu deities, along with other Indian-style motifs and tea sets.

There are large panels with writing on them that act as decor and dividers to break up the space with style.

We were seated in the corner by a window, though the view from that side of the building is not much, so there are red string drapes that add to the atmosphere nicely.

Even the plates are part of the decor.

We were quite hungry so we decided to order the 2 person set, which includes salad, Tandoori chicken, 2 types of curry (your choice), nan (choose from plain, honey, garlic, butter, or cheese), rice, and 2 drinks.

The Masala Salad
The salad was served on a large piece of nan cut into quarters and has a sweet and tangy dressing. Overall, not a bad salad, but nothing to write home about.

Tandoori Chicken (Half)
The Tandoori chicken is marinated for over 24 hours and is lean and not at all greasy, a very healthy dish with a lot of flavor.

Tandoori Chicken Wings
The set also comes with 4 chicken wings, also marinated in Indian spices and packed full of flavor.

Shrimp Vindaloo
This tasted like a tomato-based curry, which we were not expecting from a Vindaloo. It had a tanginess almost reminiscent of cocktail sauce, so it didn't taste out of place with the shrimp.
Palak Paneer
The spinach flavor came through nicely and didn't get lost in the the other flavors as can happen sometimes in my experience. This is one of favorite dishes so I was glad it was an option with the set menu.
Plain Nan
We opted for the plain nan, which was as you would expect. As everyone knows, true purpose of this bread is just to act as a vessel for other flavorful foods.
The total cost for the 2 person set was 45,900 won and we even had leftovers to bring home.
Since the food was not heavy and greasy, we left feeling full, but not sluggish and tired, which was good since we had shopping to do!
