Our Visit

Head out of Jonggak Station Exit 3-1 and go straight until you see Centropolis building on your right.
You will see some restaurant signs at the door. Just walk in when you see DingDim 1968.

You'll see the entrance of DingDim 1968 to the left as soon as you enter.

The nostalgic decorations make the restaurant seem super stylish.

The pictures inside give off a Hong Kong feel. It's a picture of the outskirts of the city.

Once you're seated, there's a double sided menu and an order sheet on each table. You choose what you want and mark your orders on the paper.

Don't worry if you can't speak Korean because there's English and Chinese descriptions on the menu as well.

After we ordered, the waiters served side dishes, soy sauce, and tea. The tea was fragrant and tasted just like the tea found in Hong Kong.

We visited after the lunch rush, so we only waited about 10 minutes for all the dim sum, which was pretty fast.

The dumplings are so big and filled with a lot that you'd be fine just ordering a tea and a few pieces.

Siu Mai (시우마이)
7,000 won
Don't you want to visit for a cup of tea and siu mai? These were a little bigger than the ones sold in Hong Kong. The pork was so tender and it didn't taste fishy at all.

Gao Choi Gao (초이가우)
7,000 won
These were packed with so much filling. The skin wasn't too thick and it tasted delicious. There's cilantro in the filling, but they can take it out if you ask when ordering.

King Har Gow (킹 하가우)
7,000 won
The shrimp dumplings had shiny, clear thin skin and lots of fillings, super delicious!

Truffle Xiao Long Bao 트러플 샤오롱바오
9,000 won
Normally, xiao long bao is smaller, but these were bigger and had a thicker skin.

Even though the size was different, the soup inside was still tasty. It was just a shame that the truffle taste wasn't that strong.

Spring Rolls (춘권)
6,000 won
The spring rolls were deep-fried to a perfect golden brown, filled with shrimp, egg whites, and vegetables, and they were super satisfying.

Wonton Noodle Soup (딩딤완탕)
7,500 won
This dish is really worth it at this price because every wonton is filled with a lot of fresh shrimp, and the skin is thin, so you won’t feel too full and bloated even if you eat a lot.

The soup was good, but it would have been even better if they used real Hong Kong-style egg noodles.
