Dessert 39's specialty is reinventing famous desserts from around the world into a more Korean style. This year they released a shaved ice and drink combo series.
Taro Pong Bubble Bingsu (타로퐁 버블 빙수) is topped with the salty and sweet Korean snack Joripong (조리퐁) and boba on top of taro milk tea. Brownie Choco Pong Bingsu (브라우니 초코퐁 빙수) also features Joripong along with chocolate and brownie pieces, and come with a chocolate latte.
Black Sugar Pong Bubble Bingsu (흑당퐁 버블 빙수) is a shaved ice with Joripong and boba on top of black sugar milk tea.
Lastly, the Cheese Pong Cream Bingsu (치즈퐁 슈크림 빙수) is a shaved ice with soft cheese cake cubes, Joripong, and cookies on top of a sweet choux cream latte.

In recent years, premium shaved ice sold at hotels has become popular in Korea. The "small luxury" trend commonly seen with 20 and 30 somethings has fueled its popularity. While expensive, they are made with high-quality ingredients and taste delcious. If you stay at these hotels when you visit, we recommend trying their bingsu, but you don't have to be a guest to purchase, so even if you stay somewhere else, you can still try them.
