Synopsis

The story revolves around two people in their youth that fall in love.

The movement was led by students seeking democracy for 10 days between May 18 and 28, 1980, and hundreds of people were killed by the military's armed suppression of demonstrators.

Hee Tae, played by Lee Do-hyun, is a smart medical student at Seoul National University College of Medicine.

He is introduced to Myung Hee, played by Go Min-si, who plays a nurse saving up for airfare to go study in Germany.

The two fall in love like fate during one of the most tragic times in Korea.

The two characters play an important role in the Gwangju Uprising.

The character Soo Ryeon, played by Keum Sae-rok is introduced as the black sheep of a wealthy family. She is at the frontlines of the labor and democratic movement fighting for the rights of workers.

Her brother Soo Chan, played by Lee Sang-yi, returns to Korea after studying abroad in France to help run their family's multimillion-dollar business in his hometown of Gwangju.

He attracts many women with his handsome looks and great personality, but he does not want to get married.

The 12-episode melodrama tells a romantic love story in a touching and unexpected way.

While the series is set during one of the biggest movements in Korea, it focuses more on the characters' blossoming love for one another.
