Dawon: The Best Restaurant In Danyang To Enjoy Garlic Tteok-galbi With A Beautiful View

Today we'll be taking you to a popular restaurant in Danyang with the best garlic tteok-galbi, a Korean beef dish made with minced beef short ribs.

The restaurant we visited is called Dawon (다원), which is known for its delicious garlic tteok-galbi and boasts a beautiful view. 

Dawon restaurant specializes in garlic tteok-galbi and the menu mostly centers around it.

There are other meals you can order that go well with the tteok-galbi, such as bibimbap or cold noodles. 

For the tteok-galbi menu, you must order at least 2 servings. 

And you can choose between spicy or sweet flavors. 

Dawon is famous for not only their delicious garlic tteok-galbi, but also for their breathtaking view of the mountains and the river. 

For dinner, Dawon is open from 5:30 PM but if you want to grab a window seat with a nice view, we recommend arriving about 10 minutes earlier.

We guarantee that as soon as the door opens, there will be customers rushing in.

A large number of people had made reservations and the restaurant quickly became crowded.

Dawon has the atmosphere of a typical traditional Korean restaurant.

When entering the restaurant, you must take off your shoes and put them in a cabinet by the door.

There is a kiosk where you can put yourself on the digital waiting list to see how many people are waiting in front of you. 

Next to the kiosk, there is a self-service table with maesil-cha, Korean plum tea for those that are waiting in line.

You can see that the restaurant has also made an appearance on MBC shows.

The restaurant is divided into 2 main areas.

There is a seating area with chairs and another area where you can sit on the floor.

The space is very bright, thanks to the huge windows.

There are enough seats for a large group of people!

The window seat is very popular.

Sitting here allows you to enjoy the view of the river and the mountain while eating your meal.

We highly recommend that you come 10 minutes before its opening time.

Inside the restaurant, there are also dining tables for those that prefer not to sit on the floor.

The tables and chairs here are no different from other restaurants.

Danyang is famous for its garlic, so they use garlic to enhance the flavors of the tteok-galbi as well.

Garlic tteok-galbi is on top of the list of foods to try in Danyang!

You have to wait for the tteok-galbi to grill.

Tteok-galbi Set With Cold / Bibim Noodles

After waiting for about 30 minutes, the food was ready.

The tteok-galbi set that we ordered consisted of cold noodles and bibim noodles. 

Although the cost of the food may be more expensive than other places, it was well worth it in my opinion! 

Eating special garlic tteok-galbi in Danyang while looking out at this view is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

There are various side dishes you can enjoy with the tteok-galbi.

Danyang's specialty, garlic, is also served as a side dish.

Garlic Tteok-galbi (마늘 떡갈비)

The garlic tteok-galbi was really thick and the meat was very fresh.

Perhaps it's because the restaurant uses high-quality meat and that's why the price is quite high.

The flavor of garlic was not strong at all.

Even if you don't like garlic, you can definitely enjoy this delicious dish.

The meat was very juicy!

For anyone who wants to enhance the taste of the garlic, you can wrap the tteok-galbi in lettuce and add in some extra garlic. 

Cold Noodles (물냉면)
8,000 won

Koreans often eat tteok-galbi, or any kind of meat, with cold noodles.

For those who can't handle spicy foods, you can order these cold noodles! 

It tastes very refreshing and tastes great with the meat.

Bibim Noodles (비빔냉면)
8,000 won

For those who like spicy foods, you can order the bibim noodles that are also served cold. 

It's not too spicy and also is great with the meat. 

Mix the noodles and the sauce together and enjoy your meal.

If you order some makgeolli (막걸리) as well, it will taste even better!
