Randy's Donuts has been all the buzz in Korea lately and always has a long line of people waiting to get some donuts. Today we're taking you on a trip with us to see if it's really worth the hype.

The store is located in Yeonnam-dong, Hongdae where there are endless things to do!

As you can see from the photo of the menu above, there's a wide range of donuts that are available.

Randy's Donuts was founded in California in 1952. They are famous for their delicious donuts! 

There is a giant donut sign you can see near the store. They are known as one of America's top donut shops and have been ranked highly on Yelp for a whopping 70 years!

Finally, Randy's Donuts opened up a branch in Yeonnam-dong which caused a huge buzz among Koreans.

They are open daily from 11 am. Even before its opening, there is always a lot of people standing in line waiting for the doors to open.

About 10 minutes before its opening, the staff came out to organize the customers waiting in line. 

The line just kept growing and growing! You may not believe it, but there has always been a long line like this since day 1. 

While we were waiting, we did our QR code check-in to follow Covid-19 restrictions.

We also took this time to look at the menu so we can make our decisions ahead of time. It's very easy to order.

You just choose the box size, pick the donuts you would like, and pay!

Step 2: Choose a box out of the 3 sizes.
Small (3-4 donuts)
Medium (5-8 donuts)
Large (11-15 donuts)

Step 5: If you would like to order coffee, you can order and pay on the second floor.

The first floor is the donut shop where you can see all its delicious flavors laid out before your eyes. Most people that come all leave with a couple of donuts in their hands!

After standing in line waiting for a long time, it was finally our turn to head in and make our orders!

There are so many donuts to choose from. You can see basic donuts coated with sugar and some others with more fun decorations and flavors. 

The donuts are divided into four main types. Classic, Deluxe, Fancy, and Premium. 

Prices vary depending on the type of donuts but they cost around 2,200-3,300 won per donut.

I think many people visiting for the first time will be quite confused. Since there are so many donuts in front of you and each one looks so delicious, it can be stressful to choose.

You also can't really take your time ordering since there are many people waiting in line. So we recommend everyone look over the menu and decide what to get ahead of time when standing in line.

After choosing the donuts you can pay at the counter and walk up to the second floor if you want some coffee and a place to sit.

On the 2nd to the 4th floor is a cafe area called BONA BASIUM. Here, you can find plates, knives, and forks to sit down and enjoy the donuts you bought!

After getting our drinks we went up to the third floor as there were more seats up there. You can sit comfortably with your friends and get ready to eat the delicious donuts.

There are also seats for groups of 4 but unfortunately, they're not available since Korea now prohibits a gathering of more than 4 people and you can only stay at the cafe for 1 hour. 

The bright orange box from Randy's Donuts is eye-catching and very cute.

The inside of the box contains 4 donuts: Glazed Raised Donut, Roasted Coconut Raised Donut, White Ganache Raised Donut, and S'mores Raised Donut. 

We ordered an Americano to help with the sweetness of the donuts.

Glazed Raised Donut
2,200 won 

This is their best-selling donut from 2020! They sold 167,102 pieces of this donut.

Since it's a sugar-coated donut it tastes quite sweet which is nicely paired with the Americano that we ordered. The donut is soft and delicious!

Roasted Coconut Raised Donut 
2,900 won

This is one of my favorites! The outside of the donut is coated with coconut. It's crunchy and tastes amazing. 

The inside of the donut is very spongy and chewy. It's a perfect combination that I personally recommend!

White Ganache Raised Donut 
3,300 won

This is also one of their best-selling donuts. It's covered with Ganache, which is a mixture of chocolate and whipped cream. It tastes like delicious sweet white chocolate.

S'mores Raised Donut 
3,300 won

This looks delicious, doesn't it? Perfect for those who have a sweet tooth! The donut is coated with a pretty thick layer of chocolate with marshmallows on top. 

The marshmallows, chocolate, and donuts are incredibly delicious and go very well together. 

Don't forget to take a picture at this photo zone before you leave. The colorful donuts on the walls are so cute and you'll recognize it right away!

How To Get There

438 meters from Hongik University Station Exit 3. 

Walk out of Hongik University Station Exit 3 and turn left where the red arrow is pointed.

Walk straight until you see a large intersection. Cross the road on your right-hand side.

Go straight for about 5 minutes and you'll see Randy's Donuts on your left.

You will notice its giant donut sign!
