CAFE KNOTTED
노티드 삼성점
SAMSEONG BRANCH
Address: 서울 강남구 테헤란로103길 9
9 Teheran-ro 103-gil, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Hours: 10:00-21:00
This doughnut franchise is super trendy in Seoul right now! We got there at 9:45 am, 15 minutes before their open time, and a good number of people were already lining up. We've also tried getting them delivered and 90% of their doughnuts were sold out within 2 minutes, so we didn't get all the flavors we wanted!
Upon entering the shop, we were determined to try some of the key flavors that are popular on social media.
Not only do they have doughnuts, but they also have loads of other options like cakes, croissants, scones, brownies, and more! Grab a tray and tongs, grab all the sweet goodies that you want, pay at the counter and they'll give you a bell that rings once your things are packed and ready to go.
We decided to try a doughnut with their coffee on the spot and take some doughnuts out as well.
The take-out box is available for purchases of 3 doughnuts or more. You can still take one or two doughnuts to go, they just won't come in this cute pink box.
The doughnuts are around 3,000 won each, which is reasonably priced. Not sure if it were our Americanized palate, but we wish the doughnuts were a bit more flavorful. The coffee was also mediocre and most of it was thrown out.
Overall, the place was green and adorable, but we are still on the hunt for tasty doughnuts in Seoul. To read more about our visit to the cafe, check out our blog article!
How To Get There: From exit 8 of Samseong Station, make a left into the first street ahead. You'll see the cafe on your left in about 100m.
TALK NONSENSE
토크넌센스
HEUKSEOK-DONG
Address: 서울 동작구 흑석로8길 7
7, Seodal-ro 8-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul
Hours:
Mon-Sat: 12:00-22:00
Sun: closed
Instagram: @talk_nonsense
Hidden away in a small alleyway, you can easily spot this cafe which stands out from the rest of the brown buildings on the street.
Even from the entrance, you can find small artistic touches which anticipates a very hip cafe. Most of the artwork is drawn by hand too! Their sign reads "Welcome pets, tumbler love, takeout"
You can enter the cafe through the door and head downstairs to enter the special hideout cafe.
The cafe isn't just pet-friendly but pets are so LOVED by the owners. You can find cute doodles of pets everywhere.
There was even a bowl of cat food the owners left outside by the door!
Although it is located underground, there is a big window which lets in plenty of sunlight. With their dim lights and low ceilings, the cafe has a very cozy vibe and I could see myself spending hours here with my laptop or catching up with friends!
Every corner of the room is filled with hints of green with artistic decorations and posters that will spice up your Instagram game.
After we chose our seats next to the window we went up to make an order. The menu is displayed on an iPad on the counter and a worker is there to answer any questions and take your order.
We ordered from their signature items. My friend ordered their Thanks Coffee and I ordered Muscat Milk Tea. We also got their Chestnut Pumpkin Cake to share.
There are also wine bottles in the fridge, and they let us know that you can even order wine during the evening!
Soon after, the worker served our drinks on a tray. They are environmentally friendly as well and aims for zero waste. Our drinks came with a metal straw and reusable green coasters which was a nice touch.
Muscat Milk Tea
5,000 KRW
Thanks Coffee
5,000 KRW
Time for the food tasting! The Muscat Milk Tea was so delicious! In the beginning, you taste the sweet milk tea, but it had a grape after-taste! It was sweet and refreshing at the same time which was highly addicting.
Their other signature drink, Thanks Coffee was amazing too! My friend said that it was like an upgraded version of coffee but not quite a latte.
Chestnut Pumpkin Cake
6,000 KRW
This chestnut pumpkin cake was to die for! I am drooling thinking about this cake again. It was a mouth-watering pumpkin cheesecake with a nutty taste. Dipped in the whipping cream, each bite had us leaning in for more!
Usually, if a cafe has a very artistic interior, they focus too much on how it looks that they rush it with the taste of their drinks and food. But, I would go back just for the cake and the drink!
If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, pet-friendly, and eco-friendly cafe with friendly workers, this cafe is the option for you!
How To Get There: From Heukseok Station exit 4, walk 639m.
CACHI
까치화방
GANGNAM
Address: 서울 강남구 봉은사로4길 23 1층
23 Bongeunsa-ro 4-gil, Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Hours: 11:00-22:00
Away from the bustles of Gangnam, in a small alley just minutes from Sinnonhyeon Station, you'll find this adorable place painted in dark green, while the flowers on display and the wooden door are especially welcoming.
Cachi is a cafe by day and bar by night where patrons stop by throughout the day, whether it's for a refreshing cup of tea or a glass of wine.
Inside, you'll also find a small counter with a florist. Here, you can purchase premade flower bouquets or request a design of your preference.
In one small corner, you'll also find cacti that come in boxes of different shapes and sizes for purchase.
If you feel like munching on a pastry bar or dessert with your beverage, you can take a look at their cozy little pastry counter, but their signature is croffle. Croffle is a new thing that emerged in Korea a couple of years ago and as the name hints, it's a croissant pressed and made in a waffle maker. You can choose from honey ice cream croffle, fresh strawberry ice cream croffle, strawberry cheese cream croffle and plain croffle, all of them served with a side of maple syrup.
I went with passion fruit and rose iced tea and strawberry cheese cream croffle.
Herbs & Fruit Handmade Jam In Tea
5,700 KRW
This refreshing drink made with jam comes in 7 different flavors, all of which are made housemade. I went with the passion fruit and rose option and it was sweet yet refreshing to taste!
Strawberry Cheese Cream Croffle
5,200 KRW
It was my first time trying the famous croffle and I wish it was a bit more crunchy on the outside. Regardless, the mix of strawberry and thick cheese cream was delectable together with this pastry. Pour the maple syrup little by little, if you want added sweetness.
The overall atmosphere of the cafe is green, wooden, and cozy with plants and flowers complementing the space. The seating areas on the second and third floors are a bit different, as they serve as Cachi Winery at night.
The second-floor seating will have dim lights and red hues at night, ideal for enjoying a bottle of wine. On my visit at 4:30 pm, the space was closed as it was getting ready for its night duty as a wine bar.
The third-floor seating area has a giant marble table in the middle with fabric chairs with golden touches, while a chandelier adds a sense of elegance to the space. In the corner, you'll also find booths perfect for private chats with friends over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
When the weather is nice, you can also take advantage of its cute outdoor seating area which looks like it's just popped out of a Pinterest board! Overall, it was a nice visit away from the busy vibes of Gangnam. If you're around the area and would like to sit down for a couple of hours with coffee, tea, or wine, this place is an option worth considering!
How To Get There: 4-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station exit 4
10-minute walk from Gangnam Station exit 11
From exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station walk straight until you see 7-Eleven.
Turn right at 7-Eleven and walk straight.
You'll see the cafe on your left.
