At one time, it was used as the headquarters of Jaeghari, a secret society of Chinese living in Seoul and the Gyeongin area, but after its identity was exposed to the Japanese police by a whistle-blower and disbanded in 1934, the secret society was changed to the Dharma Buddhist Church and opened in Geoseondang in Seoul.
