The room is very basic but the bedding was comfortable. The location is very close to the famous market area.
My kid left his precious Teddy bear in the room. Very kindly they found it and posted it to my house. Really appreciate it.

A solid 4/5 star stay that I would definitely recommend to others/come back to stay at again if I come back to Busan. I stayed at GnB Hotel for 4 nights from late Aug to start Sep 2023, solo trip. Paid about SGD $73/night, which I considered good value for my stay.
Pros:
1. Spacious clean room and bed. Comfortable mattress that was not too soft, and pillows were comfortable too.
2. Spacious and very clean toilet, the latter being something I am very big on when travelling and won’t compromise on. The toilet bowl comes with a full functioned and customisable bidet which I really appreciated. The showering area is clean, it’s easy to figure out how to use the shower head and rain shower function thanks to the clear instructions on the knob. Drainage system was also good, and the floor is made up of an anti-slip material. I used their shampoo and body soap, both were not drying, I quite like them!
3. Very convenient location in terms of accessibility to food and necessities. There are a couple of 24/7 convenient stores downstairs, and the nearest market has stalls operating till midnight, so you can walk out to get late night meals and drinks if you feel peckish.
4. The area feels safe. I felt ok walking around the vicinity at 10pm looking for food as a solo female traveller.
5. Room cleaning service is very attentive, which I also appreciate a lot. Just make sure that you leave your cleaning required sign out early/before 2pm.
6. Nice big windows that show a wide view of the streets and surrounding area! It was nice sitting on my bed chilling for a bit and looking out the window as I waited to go down for dinner.
Cons:
*disclaimer: nothing too major in here though that would change my mind about my rating*
1. It is a little far IMO from Jagalchi station, and if you are carrying heavy luggage, you might want to choose some place nearer. It kept drizzling during my stay too, so that would add to some frustration in wheeling the luggage to the station if you come at the same time of the year. It is at least a good 15 mins walk to the station from the hotel, and I didn’t see a lift at Jagalchi station, thus I had to carry my luggage up a few flights of stairs and then proceed to make the longish walk to the hotel.
2. Toilet could use a shower curtain or a door to cordon off the shower area entirely from the sink area. The shower water will splash out due to the lack of a shower curtain/door, but it wasn’t a big deal for me as I just made sure to push the toilet mat further out and kept the slippers dry for use once I was done showering. There was a suspension rod in my toilet where a shower curtain once hung though, not sure why they didn’t remove it initially as it came crashing down on my first evening and scared the hell out of me lol.
3. The room could really use more hooks. There was nowhere to hang some of the clothes I wanted to rewear and I could only drape them over the chairs.
4. Walls are a little thin. Can hear sounds from the corridor when my neighbours come in and out, and chairs dragging/heavy footsteps from adjacent rooms occasionally.
Other things to note: there are no USB ports in the room, so make sure to bring your multi USB hub if you need to charge several devices daily.

Hotel looks nice from the outside, lobby also nice. Room that we stayed at was a bit outdated. Carpet in the room was well used. The window blinds had a layer of dust on it. There were grime behind the toilet seat which look like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time.

Not familiar with the criteria in Asia about "stars" but we stayed in a suite and for an American standard the least I can say is that the room was small and outdated. Bathroom did not have a towel hanger and shower was flooding. We did not have space to have 2 bags properly stored in the room and closet was small . Breakfast was served in a space that does not look like a restaurant or cafeteria. Definitely would not recommend. However it may be a korean standard for rooms. We stayed in 6 hotels in S.Korea and 4 were tiny and outdated but 4 stars.
