Starbucks Korea recorded 33.71 million personal cup usages last year, the highest since tracking began in 2007. This marks a 15% increase from the previous year, providing benefits worth over 15.8 billion won (South Korean currency) to around 92,000 customers daily. Starbucks promotes reusable cups through customized customer benefits and eco-friendly campaigns. Since 2018, the Eco Bonus Star program allows customers to choose benefits like discounts, leading to a doubling in personal cup usage by 2019. Following the expansion of no disposable cup days last year, personal cup usage rose by 27% from May to December compared to the same period in the previous year.
